It felt like stepping into a steamy stage, a heavy morning after a rain-soaked night with more rain on the way. I walked the Luiseninsel loop through the palace gardens, stopping at the decorated bust of the queen to say good morning and taking a look into the hollow tree stuffed with colorful offerings. Interval walking was no breeze today, the sticky air made every stride slower and sweatier. By the water I paused for breathing and meditation exercises, lungs filling with the thick humid air like a sponge soaking up spilled wine. Although everything felt somehow exhausting and sticky, in a way it was a special atmosphere on the way in all this damp green. The Gotland sheep kept calmly grazing as if nothing had changed, while a pair of grey herons suddenly appeared, a rare surprise that felt like a quiet secret shared. I brought back snapshots of the heron couple, the pretty rain-damp reeds, and the hollow tree, so the memories feel less fleeting.

Es war, als trete ich auf eine dampfende Bühne, ein schwerer Morgen nach einer verregneten Nacht mit erneutem Regen im Anmarsch. Ich ging die Luiseninselrunde durch den Schlosspark, hielt an der geschmückten Büste der Königin um Guten Morgen zu sagen und warf einen Blick in den bunt gefüllten hohlen Baum. Intervall-Walking war heute kein Spaziergang, die schwüle Luft machte jeden Schritt schwerer und verschwitzter. Am Wasser legte ich Atem- und Meditationsübungen ein, die Lungen füllten sich mit der feuchten Schwere wie ein Schwamm, der verschütteten Wein aufsog. Trotzdessen sich alles irgendwie anstrengend und klebrig anfühlte war es auf eine Art doch eine besondere Stimmung unterwegs in all diesem feuchten Grün. Die Gotland Schafe grasten unbeeindruckt weiter, während ein Graureiherpaar plötzlich auftauchte, eine seltene Überraschung, die wie ein stilles Geheimnis wirkte. Ich brachte euch Bilder vom Reiherpaar, den hübschen nassen Schilfen und dem hohlen Baum mit, damit die Erinnerung nicht so flüchtig bleibt.
