Wednesday ☀️ 14043

The air had felt heavy that sultry morning, the kind of weight that wrapped around shoulders like a damp blanket. I walked my Luiseninsel loop through the palace park. Passing the decorated bust of the queen and that hollow tree stuffed with colorful things and handmade dreamcatchers on the island itself. I did some interval walking and after that deep breathing and short meditations by the water on the island, letting the ripples set the rhythm. Today I had spotted the swan family again, very nice to see their once tiny chicks are now stretching into long-necked teenagers, sadly i couldn’t get a good view of the two without mom in front of them. And yet, not everything was charming: I stumbled on careless traces of trash left behind again by reckless, ignorant people who don‘t respect public spaces. On the banks of the River Spree, magnet fishers had pulled curious finds from the water, reminders of forgotten stories and even crimes.

Die Luft hatte sich an diesem schwülen Morgen schwer angefühlt, so schwer, dass sie sich wie eine feuchte Decke um die Schultern legte. Ich ging auf meiner Luiseninsel-Runde durch den Schlosspark. Vorbei an der geschmückten Büste der Königin und dem hohlen, mit bunten Dingen und handgemachten Traumfängern gefüllten Baum auf der Insel selbst. Ich machte ein paar Runden Intervall-Walking und danach tiefes Atmen und kurze Meditationen am Wasser auf der Insel, wobei ich das Plätschern den Rhythmus bestimmen ließ. Heute hatte ich wieder die Schwanenfamilie gesichtet, sehr schön zu sehen, wie sich ihre einst winzigen Küken jetzt zu langhalsigen Teenagern entwickeln. Konnte aber leider keinen guten Blick auf die beiden ohne Mom davor bekommen. Und doch war nicht alles reizvoll: Ich stolperte wieder über achtlos zurückgelassenen Müll von rücksichtslosen, ignoranten Menschen, die den öffentlichen Raum nicht respektieren. An den Ufern der Spree hatten Magnetfischer kuriose Funde aus dem Wasser gezogen, die an vergessene Geschichten und sogar Verbrechen erinnerten.
