Wednesday ☀️ 14864

The sky had sulked, pouring down in waves, but I refused to stay stuck inside. On a todays free day between show gigs, I slipped out during a break in the downpour and wandered into the damp calm of the palace gardens. I walked slow, shoes brushing wet leaves, circling the quiet Carp pond where I paused to breathe and let my thoughts float. That ancient oak stood proud at the far end, scarred from a lightning strike yet still alive, I took a photo, its bark a testament to weathering worse than rain.

Der Himmel hatte gegrummelt und Regen in Wellen geschickt, doch ich wollte mich nicht drinnen verkriechen. An diesem freien Tag zwischen den Showjobs schlich ich mich in einer Regenpause hinaus und tauchte ein in die nasse Ruhe des Schlossparks. Ich ging langsam, die Schuhe raschelten durch feuchtes Laub, bis zum stillen Karpfenteich, wo ich innehielt, atmete und die Gedanken ziehen ließ. Die berühmte alte Eiche stand am Ende, gezeichnet vom Blitz, aber lebendig, ich nahm ein Foto mit, ihre Rinde ein Beweis dafür, dass sie Schlimmeres als Regen überstanden hatte.
