Some mornings started slow and sticky, and this one wrapped itself in warmth like a wool blanket left too long in the sun. I didn’t rush. Sometimes, you need to let your body breathe and sleep a little longer. When I finally set off, the heat hugged everything, the air thick with humidity. But the real surprise stood by the shore. One of the grand old trees had fallen overnight, the trunk bent like a matchstick. It wasn’t pretty. Therefore, that fallen giant became the soul of my photos today, snapped before a short, sweaty stroll that soaked my shirt and slowed my steps.

Manche Morgen fingen langsam und schwül an, und dieser hier wickelte sich in Wärme wie eine Wolldecke, die zu lange in der Sonne lag. Ich ließ mir Zeit. Hin und wieder muss man dem Körper einfach erlauben, länger zu schlafen. Als ich schließlich losging, lag Hitze auf allem, die Luft feucht und schwer. Doch die eigentliche Überraschung wartete am Ufer: Einer der alten großen Bäume war über Nacht umgestürzt, der Stamm geknickt wie ein Streichholz. Schön war das nicht. Deshalb wurde dieser gefallene Riese zum Herzstück meiner heutigen Bilder, aufgenommen vor einer kurzen, verschwitzten Runde.
