Hello Hive-friends. Hope you all are having a good week so far. Today, I want to show you one of my favorite hobbies which is pating with the kids from my mom's community. Let me introduce you the kids from left to right: Angel Leonel, Astrid and Angel David. Angel David and Astrid are siblings.

Since 2019, I've tried to do these kinds of activities at least 3 to 4 times per year. There are more of them, but the other kids were not available that day for those activities. The last one was, I believe, a year ago, and Angel Leonel was asking me all the time: "When is the next painting class?"So I decided this last past Sunday would be their day.

The materials we used for painting were brushes, tempera paints, and brown recycled paper. colored pencils, graphite pencil, pencil sharpener and a lot of desire to have fun. The topic was free. So they decided to make a landscape with skies, flowers, a house and family. I explained to them more or less how to use the paints and brushes, and between them, they reached an agreement that Angel Leonel would do the sky and the mountains, Astrid would do the flowers, and Angel David would do the house and the family.

I showed both Astrid and Angel Leonel how to cut the paper. I used the rest of the paper to write greetings in English and Spanish. Angel David every now and then his grandmother would call him to help her with something and I would wait for him with a lot of love and take care of the painting part of him that belonged to the house and family so that he could finish it.

Angel Leonel helped me take photos while I explained to the other children more or less where to place the colors. Seeing the happiness on their faces and the energy of enthusiasm they emanated is priceless. I felt very sad as Angel David was called every 10 minutes without exaggeration to do some errand or job. For me, having fun is the first job of children. Anyway, I'm no one to judge. The most important thing is that the objective of painting and learning was achieved.

Once the painting phase was finished, like all children who are having fun do not want it to end, I encouraged them to paint the letters of the greetings in English. By that time Angel Davvid already had more participation with the rest of the group. And since it was almost noon I told them that this was the last activity because I had to go cook.

I must admit that I had a lot of fun too. In itself, teaching is my passion and even more so when it comes to small children. I must admit that I like teaching children more than young people and adolescents. At the end of the day I taught them to pronounce the greetings in English and I hung the drawings and greetings in the window of my mother's house.
