It wasn't like the entire day was fun, or I was just too energetic that I wanted to play all through. It started with me having serios headache and fever. Actually, I woke up with a start that day, and I just wanted the day to be over because I couldn't deal anymore.

Prior to that day, I had a stressful day at work where I needed to attend to some clients that we were delivering packages to. The last time I wasn't there with my colleagues to ensure a client was satisfied, it ended as a disaster and I didn't want such to repeat itself. I believe that one unhappy customer is 100 unhappy story, while 1 happy customer can equate to 10 referrers. So while I do my best to give execellence, I ensure that I do not get an unhappy customer.

Despite successfully concluding the previous day with a pleased client, my body narrated a different tale the following morning. Aching and fatigued, all I craved was the solace of my bed. With a few tablets ingested, my intention was to succumb to much-needed rest until my padi (friend), knocked persistently on my door. I didn't want to open up the door because I just wanted to sleep, but the knock continued and it also came with series of missed call.

I knew who it was when it saw the duo method of knocking and calling, so I reluctantly opened. His gaze revealed his understanding of my downtrodden state, but instead of sympathizing, he opted to uplift my spirits. In an unexpected turn, he suggested attending an Owambe (Party) and urged me to get dressed. Given Nigerians' love for Owambe celebrations and my own craving for Nigerian party jollof, an unexplained surge of strength propelled me to dress up and join him.

When we got out, we decided to take a few pictures for memory sake and I was smiling all through the picture session and enjoying every shot taken. You see, my friends call me the Smiley emoji because I can smile a lot but then, I soon frowned when he told me that there was no party, he just wanted to lighten the mood.

This unexpected turn of events taught me the power of genuine friendship and the ability to find joy even in the midst of challenging days. Padi's thoughtful gesture turned a potentially gloomy day into a memorable one, proving that sometimes, a little laughter and camaraderie can be the best remedy for life's tough moments.
