Krakow Botanical Garden at the beginning of June

Lot of water has passed in the Vistula since then, but I realized that I did not post a report from the trip to the Krakow Botanical Garden, which we did at the very beginning of June. At that time, the weather was incredibly hot, summer in full swing, and therefore the garden was dominated by summer flowers such as irises, peonies, roses and poppies. For me, however, the most interesting thing at this time of year is always the flower beds with ornamental garlic. They can be found in the northern part of the garden, a little to the east of the place where the summer stage of the Botanical Garden is set up in the summer. Speaking of the stage, we were lucky that during our walk around the garden, a rehearsal for the evening opera was taking place on the stage, but I did not quite realize what kind of opera it was that would be presented. The advantage of this fact was that while walking around the garden we could listen to beautiful opera singing, but the disadvantage was that all these singers, musicians and the entire event staff formed incredible queues at the café located in the newly built orangery. But it was worth the wait, because the iced coffee with added flower petals that you can buy there is worth waiting in even the longest queue.

Trochę wody w Wiśle od tamtego momentu już minęło, ale zorientowałem się, że nie zamieściłem relacji z wyjścia do Krakowskiego Ogrodu Botanicznego, które zrobiliśmy sobie na samym początku czerwca. Wówczas pogoda była niesamowicie upalna, lato w pełni, a w związku z tym w ogrodzie królowały letnie kwiaty takie jak irysy, piwonie, róże czy maki. Dla mnie jednak zawsze o tej porze roku najciekawsze wydają się rabatki z czosnkami ozdobnymi. Można je odnaleźć w północnej części ogrodu, trochę na wschód od miejsca, gdzie w lecie rozstawiana jest letnia scena Ogrodu Botanicznego. Gdy o scenie już mowa to właśnie mieliśmy szczęście, że podczas naszego spaceru po ogrodzi na scenie odbywała się próba do wieczornego wystawienia opery, no tylko nie bardzo zorientowałem się co to dokładnie za opera będzie prezentowana. Plus tego faktu był taki, że chodząc po ogrodzie mogliśmy słuchać piękne śpiewy operowe, ale minus był taki, że Ci wszyscy śpiewacy, muzycy i cała obsługa wydarzenia robiła niesamowite kolejki w kawiarni znajdującej się w nowopowstałej oranżerii. Ale warto było czekać, bo mrożona kawa z dodatkami płatków kwiatów którą można tam zakupić, warta jest czekania nawet w najdłuższej kolejce.
