Trying Out iOS Photography for The First Time
Do you not love the sight of something appealing? ... be it beholding the sight of some mural in town, carefully created by some divinly inspired arstist who simply may have just been expressing his feelings towards some concept ruminating his mind... or maybe some brilliant work of a passionate photographer?
Well, you may not give two balls about art. Or maybe you are like me who give a million balls about it. Either way, we both could agree we can tell the difference between trash and beauty.
I am not one that's particularly a creator of art. Who am I kidding? I am not even close... xD... But I have always been fascinated about not just the beauty that can be created with anything, but the whole process that goes into it all.
This is why I began to develop keeness for photography. I do love to see good photos, so I thought "why not get better at taking them as well?" Coincidentally, I had this friend who was good at it and used Snapseed a lot for his photgraphy. This was about three years ago, when I was in the university.
When I was in the University...
Scratch that. I am still in the university. Apparently, 5-year course takes way longer in my country. So yeah, I am still in the university, even after 6 years.
I began to love photography even more and more. Even though I never tried to learn to do it professionally, I still tried to get better at every time I could. And then I stuck with Snapseed for the long run.
However, due to unforeseen circumctances, I was not able to do the whole photography thing for a very long time. But recently, I had my friend ... with me and his phone and the thought of taking shots came up. Since mine had been in a really bad condition, I could seize the opportunity to have fun.
I majorly was curious to know how much iPhone could offer as compared with my trustee Redmi (Android) that had served me very well before it's humble retirement recently. But I had not many subjects to do photography, so I just went with my baby; my electric guitar. To think I almost lost it sometime ago.
I have nothing against Apple. I just have never found so much in what people say about Apple, and this is basically because I had never really used one (or owned one). But I guess the narrative is changing in the recent times that I have used iOS to take photos and make videos.
Although, I had to run the photos through Snapseed and make edits to make them look better, I still standing on my new opinion that Apple has great devices. I may as well consider an iOS device for my mobile phone. I am sorry, Android.
Of course, Android still delivers great pictures, especially the flagship models. But I am here today to praise iOS, even though we all know they are over prices sometimes.

Man! I bought an iOS device for two reasons.
The resale value means I can sell it almost the price I got it, compared to selling an android which you would sell for less than half the price you bought it.
So in a way, buying an iPhone is a form of investment. 😅
😁
Well well, there is no way I can dispute that about iOS devices. They have good quality for their value and they tend to maintain price for that same value.
Their resale value makes them good choice; or should I say go good form of investment.😁
Wallpaper worthy pictures.
These pictures are perfect.
I guess you'll have to give it to iOS they have got a good camera for photography
Thanks a lot man.
I sure give it to them now for their good hardware and software. Although, there are phones now that deliver quality photos just as good as iOS devices now. We have Samsung and Xiaomi doing really well.
I have tried reaching you on Discord for Dreemport... remember?
Eiiiiiii
Really?
Had no idea fam
Lemme check
You texted?
iOS really comes into its own when you are fully into the ecosystem - the ease of use between phones/tablets/computers has made me regret going for a samsung phone this time round, even though I do love the camera on the S22 Ultra.
That's another thing to love about Apple. They have an ecosystem that allows for seamless connectivity between their devices and network, thus further enhancing productivity that can be acheived with they brand.
However, you have really good device in your hand. Samsung S22 Ultra is a flagship model and it comes great hardware specs and UI. I have not used one before, but I do adore the work that has been put into it. But then again, you have the first hand experience.
Honestly, Apple devices are topnotch. You know that is quite expected, because all devices they release are essentially flagships, unlike brands like Xiaomi who having different tiers of devices low end, mid-range and flagships, and Redmi series fall between their low-end and midrange options.
But excellent photos nonetheless. Some times, it is more than just the gear, the skills are important as well.
One cannot dispute the fact that Apple actually makes really amazing devices. Or should I just say "they have" amazing product? They really do not make much devices, they only keep adding to the existing ones. Now there's iPhone 14, but there's really not so much it offers that you cannot do without on its predecessor.
I personally love the fact that Xiaomi still makes "affordable" phones. It's not everyone that can afford iPhones.
I stand with you that better gear does not always equal excellent results. There is a place for honing skills to acheive "better."
Greetings!
Exactly so bro!
Those are some great guitar photos. It is good you have learned to make good photos.
Photography is more like fun to me now. I do it with zeal and enthusiasim. Thanks for your kind words.
Great photos, Joe! You have a keen eye for still-life. IOS do have great cameras... it'sthe rest of the phone I don't like 🤣🤣🤣 I much prefer Android and I did have a couple of phones... many years ago... but my heart at the moment belongs to Samsung !LOLZ Definitely continue with your pursuit of photography though... it complements your love for music nicely.
I dropped in from Dreemport this evening. #dreemer for life.
😅 I totally agree with you that there are many things about iOS devices that make using them quite challenging. I love the flexibility that Android provides. I have known Android all my life and it has been very much useful in many ways.
One thing I really love about Samsung is their UI... urgghh... I am in love with it. It's so user friendly and smart and beautiful all at the same time. I would choose Samsung as my next Android phone. I currently use Xiaomi.
Photography for me is fun and satisfying. I do not intend to do it professionally, but getting better everyday is the goal.
Thank you for your kind words as always...
Have a great Friday!
I don't like monopolies, at least with Android there are umpteen manufacturers you can choose from with excellent cameras not just Apple and their ios.
One thing I love about Android over iOS is the flexibility they offer their users, both consumers like us and developers. And for a fact that we have a plethora of combination of specifications these day makes it very much easier to find the right phone for one; a phone that'll meet budget and still deliver performance.
Exactly there is an Android for every budget.
