Thursday - Sharing My Memories
Its throwback Thursday when I saw my picture after i graduated high school. I was a scholar firv4 years from first year to fourth year with allowance. I got the scholarship after I passed the oral examination during my elementary graduation day. We had first written test among all graduating pupils, Top ten were being examined by oral test infront of the parent, teachers and visitors. Questions were given by the sponsor SYCIF GORRES AND VELAYO from Manila. A certain accountant who graduated from our alma matter, helped us because he was an accountant of this accounting firm back 1980. He and his family were living in Manila. According to my mother, he was a very intelligent man, passed the board exam, became a Certified Public Accountant and changed their poverty into richer family. He aimed helping us. We were two scholars and so sad that I just finished my highschool and didn't finished my college.

This was my picture after my graduation taken in Bulacan Studio. We had no camera before and I am grateful now that I have this with the eldest son of the sister of my mother who worked as accountant in San Miguel District Hospital.
My cousin along with me who passed the examination completed her studies and became a teacher. One thing I got mistaken, after my graduation, my Aunt called me going to Bulacan as her gift to me. None of my family told me to come home to reapply my scholarship for college. Later on, they wrote me but it was already too late, they chose another one to support. So sad. I maintained my grade that time but I was tempted going to Manila.
Actually, my mother want me to work to helped them build our owned house. It was a nightmare in our family when our house was burned in 1985 and I graduated 1986.It was one of the reason. My parent was a farmer only and she was not focused in her dressmaking. She told me that if I waited until I finished my study, how many years should we wait for.
I enrolled in college as a working student but accidentally, I was been ejected in the house of the cousin of my mother where I stayed because I was then throwing water from the kitchen lavatory into the window where he was standing under it. He took a bath from the dirty water with blood of fish. It was noontime and I was going to cook our lunch. He got angry though it was not my fault. It was an unintended throwing over him. Why he stood there that time. He knew the lavatory had a problem. The water stuck up.
The same day, I went home and still continued my study with the support of my parent but it was just a condition to finished that semester only. They said, they could not support me anymore and that's the reason I went to Davao in my mother's brother. They have grocery store. They told my mother that they would support my study in college but it was not realized. All my dreams was shuttered away when I got the father of my son who is now in heaven since 2004.
It's a throwback that I won't forget. I have a son with two beautiful granddaughters who inspired me to live and give me hope to carry on whatever burden I may have along the way. I ask the Lord God to give good health to my son and children and si with me that I have still the mission to be accomplished.
Happy Friday everyone!

STOPWhat a memorable throwback Thursday was this! Reminiscing all the good memories in our past gave us the feeling of joy and sometimes nostalgia..
Vwry nostalgic, there is really something in older photography that's really different, it makes you feel really different, no matter how advanced our technology now.

Hi Sis. where in Davao? Do you also speak Bisaya? I think getting education is still welcome no matter what your age you can also study online if you like but I admire that you were a scholar in high school from freshmen to senior year with allowance that's awesome I only had discounted tuition without allowance as a drum & lyre member
