Vernissage... Ukraine through the eyes of Lviv artists... #SaturdayMemories
Recently my friend visited the Lviv Vernissage - the famous square opposite the Zankovetska Theater, not far from the Opera House. Artists, national costumes, handmade jewelry, and antiques traditionally sell their products there.
I mentally transported myself to the times when I walked around peaceful Lviv every day, sat in elegant Lviv cafes, listening to retro music...
I often walked here at the Vernissage, enjoying this colorful world of creativity. Where, like a good guardian angel, rises the Church of the Transfiguration. My parents brought me here as a child to be baptized. I got married here.
This is my hometown and every corner of it is painfully familiar...
And today, in this Saturday Memories community I created, I will dive into the memories of my childhood and youth.
And this is the second year I am on my #TheLongestTrip. I saw more than 30 cities in 7 countries... I saw such famous cities of the world as Athens, Parga, Dubovnik, Antalya, Kas, Paris, Rome, Buda, Kotor... And I know: my hometown with its unique face is one of the best cities in the world! Where great empires left their best creations that still stand today.
Here you can see ancient Lviv and modern Lviv, the famous Rynok Square and St. Michael's Church, the coffee mine and the Town Hall, The Opera House and the Polish Church... on the canvases of artists.
Here, Lviv trams seem to come alive and Lviv residents walk slowly under their umbrellas through the rainy streets...
Here in the pictures there is a Peaceful Ukraine!
And here is another series of paintings that takes us to the Carpathian Mountains.
Tall fir trees and haystacks, as well as a snow-covered mysterious forest where wolves and bears live, seem real here...
Here you can feel the energy of mountain rivers, as well as see Ukrainian villages, ancient wooden churches, old houses with small windows, Christmas traditions and rituals...
Here you can see the blooming spring in the mountains and also feel the sound of the spruce blizzard...
Here at the Vernissage you can feel the spirit of my beautiful, peaceful Ukraine, as it was and, I believe, will be again!
I called myself an enthusiastic tourist of my Lviv. One day I will come back and experience its unique vintage spirit again and have a cup of coffee in the chocolate workshop...
I was happy to share with you the memories dear to my heart.
Thank you for reading my blog 💕
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Thank you for your work.
I was awed by the art pieces, such incredible talent. Makes memories flashback while strolling your eyes through them..they are amazing.. Now we know your hometown ☺️..
Each of these pictures reminds me of these dear places where I used to walk in my childhood and youth...
I pray Lviv and indeed the entire Ukraine will be peaceful again. The artworks are amazing and I can say the artists are talented. The artworks are vivid depictions of the city during its peaceful times and they look so alive and colorful. I wish you the best as the conflict in your country rages on and pray it comes to an end soon. Thanks for sharing priceless artworks with us. Happy new week.
These are really wonderful pictures that touched the most secret corners of my soul. Thank you for your kind words!
The artworks are really beautiful and kudos to you for giving proper explanation to them
I like that!
I am happy to share with you the description of these unique paintings that are dear to my heart.
I hope that your beloved Lviv did not suffer destruction in this crazy war, like some cities in the east?
When my friend Marko visited Kiev just a year before the war started, when he showed me pictures and told me what he saw, I wanted to visit Ukraine.
But I certainly won't do that, probably until you too finish your #TheLongestTrip journey and return to your hometown.
In my tourist plan I had a tour of Krakow, and since Lviv is on the route of the Carpathian route, you interested me in these pictures of the mountains...
So instead of returning via Hungary, I probably will change the route of my return home, via your Lviv, the Carpathians and Romania, to my hometown (my hometown and yours are only 850km apart 🙂).
Thank God, my Lviv is standing like a brave warrior. I believe that my ancient bright city will be preserved, and one day we will drink coffee together there :) And what is the name of your hometown?
You never know 🙂
Let's make a Hive gathering in Lviv 🙂
My city, 850 km away, Belgrade
Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. I would love to visit sometime.
Maybe one day Hivefest will take place in Lviv 😊
If your #TheLongestTrip journey takes you here, be sure to get in touch. Coffee, lunch, a tour of the city... It will be my pleasure to, even for a short time, I will be your host 🙂
These paintings are wonderful! Thanks for this great post. I pray Ukraine
Thank you for your praying 🙏🏻
And when you have gone back, you will prepare posts about Türkiye with the similar feelings ;)
Of course, our memory preserves the wonderful feelings we had in places where we felt good!
If you want to live a good and healthy life, then this is the only way. Similarly, you have to go for a walk in a beautiful place every day. The places are very beautiful and I also like them very much.
I enjoy every moment in the country where I am now. Thank God for a peaceful sky 🙏🏻
Thanks alot.
Thank you all, my friends, for your kind words and support 🙏🏻
This Lviv Vernissage city is so beautiful. These handicrafts look like they were taken from camera. I think you should must be think to move here back because you have childhood memories here.
