The magic of night Jarosław... #TheLonfestTrip
There are moments in life when you feel like you've entered another reality or a fairy tale...
Town Hall building on Market Square. Jarosław, Poland
That was my feeling when I first traveled in Poland last summer in my own car. One night we arrived in the small ancient town of Jarosław. I parked the car on a narrow street, and when I got out of the car I froze, fascinated by the mystical beauty of the night city I saw.
Above the buildings that looked like my hometown of Lviv, I saw the dome of a majestic building with a clock, which glowed and looked mysterious! And we headed there, in anticipation of exciting discoveries...
We arrived at the main square of the city of Yaroslav. I felt like home! Two-story houses, lanterns, semicircular gates... Something painfully familiar. This square reminded me of the beautiful historical city of Zhovkva, and other cities built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire in Ukraine. I love reading the history of the city after I visited it and it created an emotional picture in my soul!
I started to google the history of this city. It turns out that it was founded by the Grand Duke of Kievan Rus - Yaroslav the Wise! Yaroslav was named after its founder. It was founded as an outpost on the Xiang River during Yaroslav the Wise's campaign against the Polish king Mieszko II.
Meeting of two girlfriends in a flowerbed. Rynok Square. Jaroslaw
Yaroslavl, like most cities in Poland begins with Rynok Square - the center of the so-called old town.
The center of the square is decorated with the town hall - a neo-Renaissance building, which harmoniously fits into the ensemble of old stone houses. The first town hall appeared on this site in the 15th century. It was wooden and after some time burned down. Probably, in the 16th century, a brick building was built in its place, which was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1625. From 1782 to 1852, the town hall building was used by the Austrians for military needs (it was either a headquarters or a warehouse). In 1895-1896, a significant reconstruction of the building took place - the town hall became neo-Renaissance, and in 1909 a western wing was added to it - the building acquired its current appearance.
It is worth noting that some of the oldest tenement houses on Rynok Square have arched open galleries (along the square) on the first floor. Shops were housed under the galleries, and the tax was not levied on the living space above the galleries, because the building above them supposedly did not occupy a plot of land on the Rynok.
Mystical well. I wonder what's there?

The city often changed power. It was repeatedly destroyed by the Turks, Wallachians, Swedes, and Cossacks, but the city was reborn. Since 1947, the city has completely passed into the power of Poland. A complex history of struggle between Ukraine and Poland. But it is pleasing that the younger generations of the two neighboring peoples are friendly to each other. The history of enmity is forgotten. And now we can enjoy the beautiful architecture of this unique city, which was created by different peoples and contains many cultures. And we feel our own here, because the border with Ukraine is only 30 km away.
The houses in which the coffee shops are located have a special charm. The exclusive design of the windows, decorated with multi-colored bottles, and the balconies with flowers. The walls are illuminated and beautifully harmonize with the dark cloudy sky, which is a mysterious dark blue color. Only at night do the ancient cities acquire such a mystical meaning, as if you are in another era!
When we enjoyed a walk through night Yaroslav among the cozy light of night lanterns, colorful flowers and mysterious old buildings, we saw a restaurant Deer Beer Resto&Bar The prices and quality were attractive, and this is also a part of the pleasure of traveling :)
Even now, looking at these photos, I feel the pleasure of this fresh, delicious food!
Here, the Queen herself invites visitors to visit the coffee shop, leaving us with incredibly beautiful emotions from our stay in the small, exclusive, friendly town of Jarosław before leaving.
