Lavender apartments in the old town... 3 days in medieval Dubrovnik! // #TheLongestTrip
Well, are you ready to explore the fascinating, unique Dubrovnik with me again!? I wrote about the first impressions, and today I continue to share with you my emotions from the inside of the apartment, which I rented for three days and a little view from a height on the roofs and streets of this historical and mysterious city, in which the spirit of antiquity hovers everywhere!
When we arrived, we faced an unexpected reality: in July, the cheapest accommodation in the old town of Dubrovnik was $100 per day! Is it cheap for you?
It is expensive for us! But we wanted to live right in the center of the old town, so as not to waste the precious time of our three days getting around and not to spend extra money on transport... We found a nice guest house that touched our artistic souls with its original cute design! Back then, we didn't know what a guest house meant! :)
And here we are. We climbed the steep stairs to the 3rd floor of the old house, enjoying the creativity of the owners. The design elements included various bottles of drinks that the guests drank :)
The housing was called Lavanda Apartments. And indeed, the design was made in lavender color.
Sofa with pillows. Beds, curtains, chairs, tablecloth... Even cups, plates, knives - everything was lavender! The coasters for the cups had a lavender pattern :) At first we enjoyed this beauty and we liked everything!
You can also see beautiful design elements: the white heart on the cabinet, antique white furniture, lavender vases, multi-colored crystal chandelier, antique style mirrors are all the original design of the old town of Dubrovnik.
We got into a bright, beautiful space that promised us a pleasant life for a few days. The room was attic, slanted ceilings, white walls... Lots of purple pillows and a window with breathtaking views of the old town of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea!
After a few minutes, we realized that there will be other people living in the guest house, and we will be going to the same toilets :)
But the problem was, that the toilets did not have locks )))
Also, they were across from the bedroom of another person who goes to bed at 10pm, while we go to bed at 2am! Well, you understand!? We disturbed each other...
I will not describe in this article other unpleasant moments that were in the guest house, but now we understand how expensive Dubrovnik is, if a room in a guest house costs $ 100 per day!
We were happy to live in the very center of Dubrovnik! Walk through the narrow streets, breathing in the spirit of antiquity! The houses harmoniously combined with the rocks, as if they were a whole. And I walked in a state of euphoria from the fact that I am here and am in the secret of the medieval city, the history of which I really want to learn!
Just a few minutes' walk and we found ourselves inside the old city behind the historic wall. We climbed the wall and walked around. It was cool to see all those houses with orange roofs and narrow streets from a bird's eye view!
The life of the old city in modern times is something unique! Thousands of tourists walk along the central street of Stradun, music is playing and church bells are ringing. And swallows fly over people at a crazy speed, emitting a loud whistle. People sit in cafes hidden between houses, which offer national cuisine and promise a romantic mood... These impressions cannot be expressed in words! You can only feel it...
My walk along the historic wall will be detailed in a separate post.

Hi @olga.maslievich, a very peculiar construction, the decor in lavender tones is great, the lamp colors are beautiful and matching the lavender; the apartment has a great location allows you to see the ocean, the construction on the hill is a castle?
Blessings!
There is a castle on a mountain above the sea. I'm glad you enjoyed walking with me, @belkyscabrera.
.
a design that has a characteristic and maximizes a narrow space looks more beautiful
Yes, it is so beautiful!

Normally 100$ is good but for this room is little bit expensive I think.
Yes, I am agree!
Such interesting place 😍. I'm going to visit it in december too
You will be delighted!
$100 is so much for an apartment for one night. I think you would stay in one of the best hotels in Kemer with that money. So, we learnt Dubrovnik is much more expensive in summer.
However, it is always good for tourists to stay close to the sea or city centar.
Yes. In Turkey today I pay $500 per month. A wonderful apartment hotel in Cesme!
