Whychus Creek Scenic Overlook

(Edited)
It has been a couple years since I took a trip up to the overlook. A short walk, about a mile round trip, yields some huge payouts view wise. It's probably only 15 minutes from my house so I should probably make it a point to visit this place a little more often. So give it a scroll and enjoy some of the picturesque views from my little afternoon adventure. Might even be a video of some of the hike and me working hard to bring you these pictures. 😂

wco-2.JPGA more wide angle view from the same spot.

wco-3.JPGThe main attraction from the top of the overlook. The Three Sisters.

wco-7.JPGThis is the same shot overall but I stitched together three 90mm focal length shots in Lightroom to make this panorama.

wco-5.JPGHere is a view of Whychus creek down below. The Central Oregon Cascades have had a pretty good snow year so hopefully this creek will be flowing strong all summer. 🙂

A couple zoomed shots of the creek below.

Mt Jefferson above and Mt Washington below from the overlook.

Some rock formations I passed on the walk.

wco-13.JPGA small arch in the rocks. About 5 or 6 years ago I hiked up and took some pictures there. You can line up Mt Jefferson through the hole so it is a pretty cool effect. The results were less than spectacular so I hope with a little more experience now I can get up there and give it another go. 🙂

As promised, a 4.5 minute video of my expedition.

I'm glad my post made you feel better. I know I always feel better after getting out in nature. :)

My awkward wave is me not knowing what to do when on camera. lol

I don't get a lot of chances to go out in nature, so seeing posts like yours is a breath of fresh air. Hopefully someday, I'll be able to explore one, too.

hahah I know that feeling... but it was cute, so no worries. XDD

Beautiful place, it is incredible how after seeing a green forest you can see the mountains covered with snow. Very nice pictures. A hug.🤗😘

We had a very good snow pack in the higher elevations this year. We might even be out of a years long drought. Maybe. :)

The wide-angle shot of the Three Fingered Jack and Mt. Jefferson is pure magic! I bet that view never gets old.
