Riley Ranch Nature Reserve - Wednesday Walk
On a recent morning trip to Bend, I had the opportunity to take a walk at Riley Ranch Nature Reserve. I love this space for its wide open vistas and the chance to bathe yourself in nature. It was a partly cloudy day but there was an absence of wind and a warm feeling in the air.
Shades of green as spring begins to wane and summer approaches.

At the entrance to the reserve. I love blue sky days with billowy clouds floating by.
The desert floor that eventually gives way to the junipers and pines.
The mountain views that are spectacular here were somewhat obscured by the clouds.
Hard to see in these pictures because I had the wrong lens on but there is a hawk gently gliding by.
Across the green field you can see some of the higher end houses in the city of Bend. Also below the cliffs, the Deschutes River flows separating the reserve from the city.
A peekaboo shot of the South Sister that found its way out of the clouds.
And to finish up some of the past volcanic activity that is ever present in the Central Oregon region.
Thanks for following along and hope you have a wonderful day. 😀

I love days like that. I prefer the clouds to be a little whiter but the little gray on them was just fine. :)
