Last month my daughter came to Central Oregon to pay me a visit. We decided to get out for a little adventure so we headed up the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway out of Bend, Oregon. Our target destination this day was Devils Lake and a short hike on the shore of this green/turquoise lake.

This lake is one of the shallowest lakes in the Central Oregon Cascades. The shallowness here, at the beginning of the hike, and the clarity of the water give you an excellent view of the bottom of the lake. As we progress on the hike the depth will increase somewhat and the greenish turquoise color that the lake is known for will come into view.

And BOOM! Just like that we get a peak of the renown color the lake is famous for. 😁

The trail begins to wind around into a little cove area. Below is a quick video from the same spot.
