Sublime Sunday Southern Style

Happy Sunday, y'all!

We recently got back from a vacation, or what my family used to call “going on a trip”. We went down to South Carolina and spent a week along the Atlantic Ocean at Surfside Beach in the Myrtle Beach area. Then we headed on over to Charleston for a week of Plantation viewing and endless walking.

As we came to appreciate most of the southern style, grand plantations include a long entrance driveway lined with live oaks.

And copious amounts of Spanish moss.

The first day we toured the magnificent grounds of Magnolia Plantation.

The grounds and gardens of Magnolia Plantation are just too expansive to cover in one post.

For this post I want to concentrate solely on the limited time Lego sculptures that they had amongst the Magnolia Gardens.

I really screwed up on a couple of the exhibits because I was remiss in getting a picture of the information concerning the sculpture.

At first I didn't think there would be any value to the information until I started seeing that each sculpture has a massive amount of Lego pieces and each placard had the number of blocks used.

For example you can see in the lower right that the Red Lion has over 45,000 Lego blocks and took over 165 hours to build.

As I walked around viewing and photographing these various legal sculptures, the heat was in the 90s as well as the humidity which made for a real feel well north of 100°! yikes in other words as hot as Hades LOL!

Lego sculptures ! Who knew???

Those are pretty awesome. I'd have never made it walking around in the heat and humidity like that.

I bet there was a lot to enjoy there though.
