Raindrops and Flowers Make for a Beautifully Sublime Sunday
Happy Sunday, y'all !
As usual here in Virginia, a rainstorm is quickly followed by blue skies and sunshine. I would say within about 20 minutes generally the roads and sidewalks are completely dry and one would never know that there had been a heavy downpour just moments earlier. Now I have always been a fan of photographing water drops. I think little beads of water tend to make any photograph more interesting. So I thought I would hurry out and grab a few shots of some flowers before those drops would dry up and be gone.
Well this is my hibiscus. If you are a follower of my blog, you might remember a few weeks ago I was complaining because the deer ate down this hibiscus plant to where it looked just like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Apparently the buggers done me a favor. Usually a day does not go by without this hibiscus putting up a new flower or three. Somehow the deer must have known the best time to prune my plant because it has never looked better.
In fact this hibiscus plant is so happy that it is putting up yellow and pink flowers all at the same time. It's crazy!
By the way, all of these photos were shot with a Sony a7iv with a Sony 90mm macro.

Glad they came out nicely after the deer friend has it's share. It's hot here and I'm glad we also had a bit of rain.
Who knew ?! Now you'll have to remember when that happened and trim the flower plant back the same time next year. Pretty neat that it is putting out two colors of flowers. Must have been an accidental graft or something. It's nice to have a nice surprise once in a while.
The rain drop in the macro photography makes those hibiscuses look stunning. I love that type of weather mostly in the summer. Even if the rain lasts for an hour, I do really enjoy it after many hot days. As it is nearly 36 degrees here and I truly miss the cold winter days.
