Happy Monochrome Monday!

I suppose one could use any photograph and change it to a monochrome picture and call it good. However, to my mind that would feel like cheating. Plus what's the fun in that? Just taking a random photo and taking the color away doesnt do justice to the idea behind a good monochrome! For me it's just like when I do my sepia Saturday post I try to find a picture that looks appropriate, i.e. old and vintage to add sepia tones to. I look at Monochrome Monday the same way in that I try to find pictures that are enhanced by a certain degree of grittiness and or detail that benefits from increased contrast.
