Greetings everyone! We were driving to my sibling’s place the other day just chillin on the road thinking we had get there in a couple more hours. Nothing fancy going on just fields and small roadside shops passing by. Then BOOM nowhere we see Matawe Beach peeking through the trees!

It’s in Barangay Matawe (they also call it Cabog) over in Dingalan Aurora Province up north in Central Luzon, Philippines. We did not even plan to stop, but we had to check it out, you know?

First whiff of that sea air and im already smiling so big. The sky was so blue it was almost too bright to look at, clouds floating around like fluffy cotton balls. And the water?! This gorgeous turquoise color that just pulls you in.

Hills in the back sloping down to the shore swear to God it looked like one of those perfect postcards you see online and think yeah right that can’t be real! We even passed by Mercado Beach Resort on the way in plus another spot called Captain Cesar’s Resort too both right there in the same barangay. No lie i so wanted to dive right into the water. The waves were perfect not too wild just rolling in nice and smooth glinting in the sun like there were a million little sparkles in the sea.

But here’s the thing i did not bring any extra clothes. Like, zero. Just what i was wearing and we still had a long drive ahead. No way i was gonna show up at my bro/sis’s place all wet and looking like a soaked cat haha!
Oh well can’t swim? Fine i will just take a ton of pics instead! Pulled out my phone and went crazy snap shooting everything. First got the whole view hills sea sky all together. Then zoomed in on all the little stuff tiny shells all over the sand little crabs zooming under rocks even how the sea spray would catch the light and sparkle like crazy. We also walked past Matawe Bay Oceanfront Resort near the Dingalan River super close to Los Carabaos Islets too!

Walked a bit more and there’s all these cute little eateries and cottages along the shore. The food stalls had simple wooden tables under colorful tarps and you could smell grilled fish and garlic from way far away made my stomach growl SO loud i bet everyone nearby heard it 😅. The cottages were adorable little huts with thatched roofs and bright painted walls, literally just steps from the water. Low key wished we’d planned to stay the night! There’s even Isla MalayA Beach Resort on the main road too heard they let you bring pets which is perfect for next time.

Took pics of everything kids building sandcastles a lady selling fresh coconuts even the old wobbly posts of one of the cottages because they looked cool. Every photo felt like a little keepsake because let’s be real i never forget this place anytime soon. We even saw the Matawe Rock Formations nearby they look so sick against the sea!

After like an hour of wandering and taking way too many photos, we had to get back on the road. As we drove off i kept looking back at Matawe Beach already making plans to come back. Next time though? You bet im packing my swimsuit and extra clothes no excuses this time!

That’s it for now hope you guys enjoyed the story!
