Monomad challenge - Frozen

Title: Frozen

I adored the winter and the snow as a child. I rushed outside as soon as the first snowflakes appeared, catching them with my tongue. With my family, I would frequently spend the holidays in the mountains sledding and skiing. In contrast to the mountains, the area where I reside is plain and does not support winter sports. In a circle of several hundred kilometers in diameter, the height difference is merely a few meters.

As kids, the only activities we could partake in were snowball battles and building snowmen.
These days' winters are relatively cold but lacking of considerable snow. And I stopped adoring it as much as I did as a child. Now, the snow is just another chore and annoyance for me. The first snow recently fell and quickly melted. Every year, the effects of global warming grow.

The living space needs to be heated because winters are still chilly enough despite being warmer. The cold bothers me more and more as I get older. Even while I still enjoy every season, there are times when I wish I could wear short sleeves throughout the year. Only the early mornings are chilly and severe.

With assistance from @alt3r, I captured a frozen leaf one such morning.
Her attempts to melt the leaf with her stare were unsuccessful.

She was only able to warm one chilly heart.
