Trade mela shopping
Trade fairs or melas are a great way to explore different cultures, crafts, and food. The vibrant colors, unique designs, and aroma of delicious food attract people from all over the world. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a trade mela along with my brother and mother, and it was an incredible experience that I will always cherish.
As soon as we entered the mela, we were surrounded by a riot of colors, sounds, and smells. There were different stalls selling clothes, jewelry, handicrafts, and food items. Each stall was unique in its own way, and we were spoilt for choice.
The first thing that caught our eye was a small statue made of clay and decorated with mirrors. It depicted a Rajasthani husband and wife in traditional attire, and it looked exquisite. The detailing and craftsmanship of the statue were impeccable, and we knew that we had to buy it.
When we asked the shopkeeper about the price, he quoted 800 INR, which we felt was a bit steep. However, my mother's bargaining skills came in handy, and we managed to get it for 400 INR, which was a steal. It was a small victory, but it felt great to negotiate and get a good deal.
After buying the statue, we decided to explore the rest of the mela. We came across a stall selling traditional Rajasthani clothes, and my brother and I couldn't resist trying them on. We dressed up in colorful turbans, dhotis, and kurtas and posed for pictures. It was a fun experience, and we felt like we had immersed ourselves in the local culture.
Next, we headed towards the food stalls, and the aroma of spices and fried food filled our nostrils. We tried different delicacies like kachoris, samosas, and jalebis, and they were all delicious. My mother, who is a foodie, was in heaven and couldn't stop raving about the food.
Apart from the food, we also tried some refreshing drinks like sugarcane juice and lassi. The sugarcane juice was sweet and had a hint of lime, which made it perfect for the hot weather. The lassi was thick and creamy, and it was a perfect way to cool down after trying all the spicy food.
As we walked around the mela, we came across different stalls selling handicrafts like wooden toys, paintings, and pottery. Each item was unique and had a story to tell. We bought a few souvenirs to take back home, and they will always remind us of our wonderful experience at the mela.
In conclusion, visiting a trade mela is a great way to experience different cultures, crafts, and food. It allows you to interact with the locals, learn about their traditions, and buy unique souvenirs. My visit to the trade mela with my family was an incredible experience that I will always cherish. I urge everyone to visit a trade mela at least once in their lifetime, and I promise that it will be a memorable experience.
I am feeling very delightful while I am sharing these pictures with my HIVE family
