Wednesday Walk || Capturing The Beaut of Shelter Afrique
Wednesday Walk || Capturing The Beauty of Shelter Afrique
Thank God Is another Wednesday of the new week in the month of October, 2023. It is a good feeling being in the company of Wednesday walkers to see and capture the beautiful things seen around our environment.
My Wednesday walk took me to Shelter Afrique, a newly extension in the outskirts of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. Most exhortic buildings here belongs to the government officials and a few to the private owners. Follow along as I share with you my walk experience.
This building I learnt belong to one of the commissioners in the state. It sits by the right hand side of the shelter drive.
Sharing the fence is this composite building that houses the St. John Paul II College belonging to the wife of the former Governor of the state.
A parent there who comes to pick his daughter. Though the school is boarding with state of the art facilities even if I don't have access to go inside, but what I see from the outside tells it all.
From my observations it seems like the building is sitting on more than 5 hecters of land.
I proceed in my walk still in the same road, some distance away. By now I am feeling thirsty due to the hot sun that light up the day.
I was fortunate to run into this woman that sells coconut, so I decided to help my self by buying the tender coconut and drink the water. It was really refreshing at this hour.
After I was done with that refreshments, I proceeded on my walk again.
Across the road to the other side of the road sits this building which I captured the back view of it.
Some distance to the left I capture this edifice
Then followed by this.
Some distance more into my walk, I saw a massive fence that runs many kilometers. By the time I got to the entrance gate, I decided to go into the premises since it looks like a company.
This is the entry way. From here I could see different sections of block molding equipment with people working on block molding. I make some inquiries about the amounts of the blocks since they have 9" hollow and 6" hollow block. I was directed to go into the office block to make my inquiry.
I walk straight to the office block. I met a lady which I interact with. I couldn't take a shot since they did not allow. I could see rods and other building items on display.
I can tell from what I saw inside the office that the company belongs to a wealthy business person if not one of the government political leaders.
In fact, if you do not take a walk around your neighborhood, you cannot know the extent of beauty the environment have, and that is why I appreciate @tattoodjay for putting up this challenge.
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by @tattoodjay, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start.
