Unveiling the Art | My Introduction Post on Hive Community

• Introduction

Hello ,My name is Nowshin Tarannum. I am 22 years old. I am from Bangladesh and currently living in Dhaka with my family. I have two siblings and I want to share a glimpse of my life as my Introduction here on Hive. My life was full of struggle but my parents always tried their best to provide me everything. I am their everything and they always have showered me with love and care because they never had the chance to be loved. But now I think I should do something for my parents. I want to be independent and do something on my own.

• Makeup was my escape

From the childhood I was so introvert. So, I truly never had real friends. No one ever made me a part of their groups. They would just simply avoid me . Actually I don’t know how I was never good at making friends! It was very effective for me at that time so I started to give my time in makeup. I would just wearing different kinda makeup whenever I had free time. I was not that much active in studies. Because at first my mother would keep me under pressure for good marks and it was a headache for me. That’s why I was not interested in studies. But as time passed I had realized there is no need to make friends I can stay happy by myself. And I started to focus on my studies and became a topper in my class. I was not a nerd but I was loved by all teachers. Which was a very proud moment for my parents. Then I attended all the extra curricular programs, picnic or study tour of my school. My parents would never let me go anywhere alone. So every time my dad went with me. When I was in school/high school my mother would always come to drop me off and pick me up even at tiffin time she would come to feed me and my friends used to make fun of that. However my parents cared too much for me sometimes it was suffocating for me. But somewhere I knew that they were genuinely scared to leave me alone. Because they thought I could never survive alone because they never taught me how to. So most of the times I had to stay at home and study books and wearing makeup were my hope.

• My journey with Makeup

I was a shy person never wanted to be famous through my face so I thought of finding a way to be in-front of public and also didn’t want to show my face. When I used to apply different types of makeup in my free time, I used to feel ashamed when I saw myself in the mirror. One day, my best friend saw my beautiful makeup and asked me to do it for her too. Then I applied makeup on her face with my skillful hands. This is how my journey as a makeup artist began. At first, I used to do simple makeup for my cousins or friends when they went to their programs. They were very satisfied with my color combination and makeup. Then I took a risk and did bridal makeup for one of my cousins. Everyone was very surprised by my skills in the service. This is how I gradually developed myself as a skilled makeup artist.

While staying at home during the Corona period, I gradually became interested in doing makeup. Then, in the last 4 years, I have been able to develop myself as a professional makeup artist. Although I have not been able to make my business profitable yet. However, customers come to my house to do some makeup, and with the income I can easily pay my university semester fees.

• My Career

Recently, I have chosen to become a makeup artist as my career. After almost 4 years of experience, my skillful hands have improved. Moreover, women of different ages from our area come to me to get their makeup done. Since I am an emotional person, it was very challenging for me to make myself a makeup artist. There have been many times in the past when many people have said insulting things to me because my makeup was not beautiful. But my mother always inspired me with the things I like. So little by little, I have been able to reach this stage today.

• My view on Makeup Artist as a career

I think building a career as a makeup artist is very effective in the present day. People are basically worshipers of beauty. So people want to present themselves in front of everyone as the most beautiful. As the era progresses, the demand and respect for makeup artists is increasing day by day. Moreover, I think it is a great thing to do makeup work as a part-time job as a student. No matter how advanced technology is, I think the demand for makeup artists will never decrease.

• My love for Pets

I am a cat Person. But I am not allowed to bring any cat at home. Because my father is allergic to cats. So whenever I am free I would just feed stray cats. I still remember in my childhood days I had a cat which was found on a highway. I knew I could not take proper care of it. So I gave it to my grandma. She took care of it but one day I woke up and saw that my cat was gone and everyone told me it ran away. But I knew that someone had hidden my cat somewhere else because they didn’t want me to have a cat as a pet. It made me upset that cat went missing before I named it. I did cry for three days but never found that cat.

• My little Advice for everyone

I think everyone should chase their own dreams. There are all kinds of people around who will not support or inspire you in your work, but if you focus on your work with a strong will, that work will easily become successful. So, prioritize your dreams from now on. Listen to what your heart tells you. Give yourself time and be happy. Take care of your parents.

I can't forget to mention one person. Through whom I got the opportunity to join this community. Yes, I am talking about my very close friend Alysha (@be-alysha). She was once very active on this platform. She wanted me to join then so that we could share our moments together here. But for various reasons, I didn't join here. Moreover, since my English skills were not very good, I felt very nervous about writing. Even now, I am using Google Translate for my writing. After getting married, Alysha is going through a very busy time with her family life. But she will be the happiest to hear that I have joined the Hive community. I hope she will be back here very soon.

I am a professional makeup artist but not a professional blogger. However, I would like to share some of my makeup tutorials here. I would also like to share my weekend activities and travel experiences here. Since Hive is a complete social media platform, I would like to write about anything in my free time.
