Norway - Flekkefjord | Street ART

Hello friends, in my previous post I told you about the town of Flekkefjord and I got very good responses, thank you for your interest. As I mentioned in that post, Flekkefjord is really an amazing city in terms of art and natural beauty and the facilities are not like ordinary towns, we said that it is possible to get answers to all your needs here.

During our trip, I visited all the side streets of the city for you and photographed the wall paintings and I will share them all in this post. There are probably many more graffiti that I missed, but I tried to find them all when I could. It was a very interesting experience for me. For the first time, I looked for graffiti by looking at the walls and between buildings while walking on the streets. It was a fun experience. We liked these graffities very much and I hope you like them too.

This is not graffiti, it is a painting hanging in the gap between the building next to the pastry shop. I wanted to include it in this post because I liked it.

This was definitely my favorite artwork. When I was looking around, I was really surprised to see such a work on the ground.

Flekkefjord's street art is stunning, reflecting the city's history, culture and the diversity of its society. Exploring these streets is not only a visual feast, but also an opportunity to understand the stories behind the works. For example, you may have noticed that a few of the artworks have the signature TÖDDEL under them, I did some research about this person on the internet and found out that he took up this hobby during the pandemic and he performs his art critically on the walls without asking anyone's permission, he says that he gets great pleasure from people taking photos of his artworks. To be honest, I like his logic very much and he's so good at it.

Flekkefjord's street art also touches on social issues. Artists use the streets to raise awareness about the environment, equality and sustainability. This means that street art in the region is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also thought-provoking and consciousness-raising.

Flekkefjord is a region rich in Street Art and when you search for it on Google, you can see many of the photos you see here. It was a great pleasure for me to actually go and see and photograph them and it was a very fun day. I think I will do this from time to time, I think I will create a concept on sculpture monuments and street art and share it with you as I photograph beautiful moments.

Honestly, I think this issue is a matter of perception, I have seen a lot of street art before, but it has never made me think deeply from this point of view, thank you @gabrielatravels for inspiring me to prepare this post, I think I will be more interested in street art from now on.

Thanks for sharing those artworks. For me, I like most the last painting which raises awareness about the environment. It's a great piece of artwork that can make people do something and hopefully more works like that will come out in the future. Salute to every artist living their life painting, others even devote their entire lives to it, and I understand the perception of painters and artist. They only live once, you might as well do something where you truly feel alive. ❤️

Sometimes I think that even when I write something on paper, I write it wrong and erase it, but these artists perform their art on the walls so beautifully that they have no even chance to erase it. They should definitely be respected, salute to them all like you said🖖 Thanks for intense thoughts.🌸

True. It's not easy being an artist, what you create is what you have created. There's no turning back. They are truly gifted with brilliant minds in this world.

Yay, the wait is over! The one with the girl in the water is my favourite, but I love how much attention on detail was given to each piece.

Do you know how many of these you have in your town? Or if they are created within a street art festival?

We have a street art festival where I'm living and there are around 117 graffities on buildings. I'm still exploring them and gathering pictures for some future posts here!

Street art is quite popular in Flekkefjord, I think there are many more I haven't discovered yet, but this is not a festival, I shared the graffities I came across randomly in the side streets of the town. I would love to see a festival environment like you described, I felt myself more interested in street arts after such experience i had. Thanks for stopped by ✨

Absolutely! Maybe that's because it gives us a different perspective from the 'graffiti' we used to see when being younger. But apparently there is quite a difference between graffiti and street art.
