Pine feat canon lens adapter ascom and indi
So this is a quick review of a lens adapter to be used with Canon lens to be used with a dedicated astronomy camera, it is from a company called pine feat, this has been purchased with my own money and are my own thoughts and feelings towards the product.
So let's start off with the packaging, nothing special but it was sent 24 hour tracked and arrived quickly in England and looks like the postage costs where not inflated which is always nice to see.
The box inside is very plane and no branding which is ashame but if this is a starter product these things can be overlooked.
Some images of the adapter, the quality does not feel premium but we are all about results not looking nice but still wouldn't kill for a pine feat logo on the adapter.
There was a few options for back focus so no spacers are needed, I went for the 12.5mm as I am using a Altair 183c and the back focus was spot on, there was also 17.5mm for cooled cameras and another option.
I tested auto focus with Nina and sharpcap and both worked fine with a tweaking of the step size down to 5 steps with the 200mm lens I am using, unfortunately the cloud rolled in before I could gain any valuable data but it does work.
Pros:
It Works
No need for spacers
Quick delivery
Works with Nina and sharpcap
Price £90 approx (1/3 of astromechanics)
Cons:
No branding:-(
Software only available via git hub ATM
Would I buy this again?
A big yes, a great adapter for wide field when it is too windy for other scopes for me.
