Walking in the wood during a rainy day.

Good morning hivers how are you? Today in Italy it is a day of celebration, Workers' Day, a celebration that has origins in America to remember the workers' struggles to have eight working hours, greater rights and adequate wages, a celebration that given the current working conditions in Italy It almost seems like a joke, unfortunately, but let's not argue and today I'm not here to talk about politics. Today my husband and I had the afternoon free but unfortunately the weather was really bad, very rainy. So we didn't have many plans, but after getting a little bored on the sofa watching rubbish TV shows we decided to move around a bit and go for a walk in the woods behind the house, so my husband could also try out one of the knives from his collection ( Oh God written like this he seems like a psychopath 🤣🤣).

So we armed ourselves with an umbrella and a knife and went out despite the rain. Unfortunately near home there are not many places to walk but we have a small piece of woods from which I also took some photos of the town where I live Piteccio, from the photos you can see the bridge sadly known because it was bombed several times by the allies during the war to block the passage of the Germans, various inhabitants of Piteccio lost their lives during the bombings, the most serious occurred on 28 April 1944.

As soon as we entered the woods we immediately noticed a faint beginning of spring, small flowers scattered here and there, even if given the climate spring still seems very far away, but it was pleasant to see a little color in the midst of all this grey. We walked into the greenery, sadly noticing many fallen trees and also that one of the few benches we had to sit on in the woods had been uprooted.

We went deeper and deeper into the woods, the fascinating thing is that walking in the woods with the rain is very relaxing, there is no one there and the sound of the rain on the plants is very beautiful. Then since there were no other walkers they could walk in peace and tranquility. We finally came across a branch that satisfied my husband, so he tried his new knife on it and it seemed to work well, although now I wonder what he's going to do with that stake? Will the vampires kill us? We walked for about half an hour then unfortunately the storm became more intense so we had to return home at a fairly fast pace. But it was a pleasant walk and now we have a nice branch to defeat Dracula!
