Tractor and farm festival in Carmignano/Festival de granjas y tractores en Carmignano

A few days ago we went to the delightful village of Carmignano near Florence, about an hour's journey from here, where there was a festival dedicated to the countryside. Carmignano is a famous place because it is surrounded by hills and above all vines, very excellent wine is produced here, it is also known for the ancient fortress which is not far from the main town (which unfortunately we did not visit because we were too busy visiting the fair) and for the numerous fairs and religious festivals that take place there. We arrived at the fair in the morning so we could enjoy it calmly and have lunch there, in addition to the countryside fair there was also a craft market. As soon as we arrived we had some difficulty with parking because it was full of people, especially families.

Hace unos días fuimos al encantador pueblo de Carmignano, cerca de Florencia, a una hora de camino de aquí, donde se celebró una fiesta dedicada al campo. Carmignano es un lugar famoso porque está rodeado de colinas y sobre todo viñedos, aquí se produce un vino excelente, también es conocido por la antigua fortaleza que no está lejos de la ciudad principal (que lamentablemente no visitamos porque estábamos demasiado ocupado visitando la feria) y por las numerosas ferias y fiestas religiosas que allí se celebran. Llegamos a la feria por la mañana para poder disfrutarla tranquilamente y almorzar allí, además de la feria rural también había un mercado de artesanía. Nada más llegar tuvimos algunas dificultades para aparcar porque estaba lleno de gente, sobre todo familias.

As soon as we arrived we immediately saw the beautiful fountain in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and then we immediately headed towards the farm to see the animals, the farm was very pretty and I enjoyed petting the donkey who I must say was really peaceful and was really funny, then there were various types of pigs, chickens, horses and even an alpaca, I love alpacas they are so soft and nice! The farm wasn't very big but it was nice to see and caress the animals, but not all of them were forbidden for some breeds of pigs because they seem to like biting too much!

Tan pronto como llegamos vimos inmediatamente la hermosa fuente en Piazza Vittorio Emanuele y luego inmediatamente nos dirigimos hacia la granja para ver los animales, la granja era muy bonita y disfruté acariciando al burro, quien debo decir que era muy pacífico y muy divertido. , luego había varios tipos de cerdos, gallinas, caballos y hasta una alpaca, ¡me encantan las alpacas, son tan suaves y agradables! La granja no era muy grande pero era bonito ver y acariciar a los animales, aunque no todos estaban prohibidos para algunas razas de cerdos porque parece que les gusta morder demasiado.

The nice thing is that there was also a show with falconers and owls, the owls were really big, I didn't remember them being so big! Immediately afterwards we went to eat there were various stalls selling typical Tuscan products and we were very hungry, we first took some sheets of fruit pasta stuffed with raw ham, really good and tasty, I love fried pasta but I rarely cook it because it is a little heavy and then because I would eat a lot of it, then we went to a stall with another typical product, porchetta, pork cooked and processed in a particular way, truly delicious, we took two sandwiches with porchetta and some craft beers which however I must admit were not very good, they seemed more like wine than beer. But the sandwiches were delicious and tasty!

Lo bueno es que también hubo un espectáculo con cetreros y búhos, los búhos eran realmente grandes, ¡no recordaba que fueran tan grandes! Inmediatamente después fuimos a comer había varios puestos que vendían productos típicos de la Toscana y teníamos mucha hambre, primero cogimos unas láminas de pasta de frutas rellenas de jamón crudo, muy buenas y sabrosas, a mí me encanta la pasta frita pero rara vez la cocino porque es un poco pesado y luego porque comía mucho, luego fuimos a un puesto con otro producto típico, porchetta, carne de cerdo cocinada y procesada de una manera particular, realmente deliciosa, tomamos dos sándwiches con porchetta y unas cervezas artesanales que sin embargo debo admitir que no eran muy buenos, parecían más vino que cerveza. ¡Pero los sándwiches estaban deliciosos y sabrosos!

After eating we continued our walk first looking at the tractors, I don't know much about them but my husband was enthusiastic, he says some are very old. Then we continued and went to the antiques market which I really liked, not only for the stalls with old watches, jewellery, toys, furniture and magazines, a real step back in time but also for the magnificent view of the valley below particularly beautiful especially towards the evening, there were many stalls and my husband bought some old knives and a watch and I bought some very simple and nice earrings. After which we continued our walk through the streets of the town where I found a lovely little church with a very large nativity scene, I have a passion for churches especially old ones and with a cloister! It was a nice fair, I liked it a lot and I think we'll be back next year, also it's been a long time since I went back to Carmignano and I didn't remember it being so nice and bright! We noticed there are many restaurants and wine bars I think we will be back!

Después de comer continuamos nuestra caminata mirando primero los tractores, no sé mucho de ellos pero mi esposo se entusiasmó, dice que algunos son muy viejos. Luego continuamos y fuimos al mercado de antigüedades que me gustó mucho, no solo por los puestos con relojes antiguos, joyas, juguetes, muebles y revistas, un verdadero viaje al pasado, sino también por la magnífica vista del valle que se encuentra debajo, particularmente hermosa. Hacia la noche había muchos puestos y mi marido compró unos cuchillos viejos y un reloj y yo compré unos pendientes muy sencillos y bonitos. Luego de lo cual continuamos nuestro paseo por las calles del pueblo donde encontré una pequeña iglesia encantadora con un belén muy grande, ¡me apasionan las iglesias especialmente las antiguas y con claustro! Fue una feria bonita, me gustó mucho y creo que volveremos el año que viene, además hacía mucho tiempo que no volvía a Carmignano y no recordaba que fuera tan bonita y luminosa. Notamos que hay muchos restaurantes y bares de vinos. ¡Creo que volveremos!
