Ponte alla Pergola is a delightful, semi-rural village. ( ENG/ESP)
Good evening, blog friends, here I am again to take you with me on one of my tours. Today I'll take you to a delightful village called Ponte alla Pergola, which leads to the city of Quarrata. To get to the village, you have to leave the city, but in about ten minutes by car, you're there. It's a place of passage and connection to other villages and small towns. Leaving the urban area, we find this semi-rural area made up of the typical fields of the area, with large green cultivated fields, plantations of various plants and trees, greenhouses, and a few factories scattered here and there. But this town isn't entirely rural and also has a more urban-like feel, with a very beautiful residential area made up of wide streets surrounded by charming, colorful villas. I was enchanted by these villas, many of which have a truly elegant appearance, while others, made of stone, have a more old-fashioned feel, which I still really like. Strolling through the streets of this town is a unique experience because as you walk among the houses or terraced houses, you turn a corner and find yourself overlooking a field full of straw bales or a plantation of trees and plants. A mix of rural and city life, it's also an excellent area for walking, especially since it's on the plain, so the road is completely flat and easy to navigate.
This town is located on one of the most well-known roads in the country, called the Florentine because it also connects to Florence. There are several very pretty villages on this road, and it's also convenient. In addition to passing through villages and rural areas, it also passes through industrial areas. But back to us, the town in question dates back a long time and was built around an old, now-destroyed hospital and an oratory.
Today, the area is predominantly residential, whereas in ancient times it was predominantly rural and agricultural, especially before the Florentine road was built. There aren't many businesses, just a few bars, a few schools, and a few offices. However, it's a quiet and very pretty area.
