As you know, I have many passions, not only food, TV series and travel but also art and literature! This is why I love visiting museums, churches, cathedrals and monuments, one of the museums in my city that I liked most is the museum of ancient art located in the Town Hall in the center of the city, this museum is open every weekend and on the first Sunday of month is even free! A nice initiative for tourists but also for those who live in the city and want to do something different. The museum mainly contains religious art, from the Middle Ages up to the 19th century with around 300 works displayed in its rooms, the majority of which are medieval works. The works are represented in chronological order and in styles mainly Florentine and Pisan. Let's talk about the works that struck us the most, a series of altarpieces with a gold background from the Florentine school of the early 16th century with themes related to the sacred conversion represented, beautiful and valuable altarpieces.

Among the works, one of the most famous is also a dion of Saint Francis attributed to Coppo di Marcovaldo, many of the works exhibited, altarpieces, triptychs, frescoes and paintings portray the Madonna and the Saints but also many biblical scenes, such as the annunciation, the ascension, the baptism of St. John, the nativity. In one of the more modern rooms there are sculptures and paintings dedicated to Puccini. The museum can be visited in about an hour and is accessed via a staircase which immediately delights us with a sculpture by Marino Marini. The rooms are large and the works capture you, some are truly of rare beauty and craftsmanship, there is so much to see and admire. Despite being a small museum, if you love religious art this is a little gem not to be missed. I really liked it and I was entranced by the paintings and objects and their colors and styles so different and detailed.
