Nice day at Lentula river

With this immense heat, all of us would just like to take a dip in the cool water, which is why my husband and his daughter decided to cool off for a peaceful day in the waters of the Lentula river, located on the Pistoia hills in the Apennine area that connects it with the region of Emilia and with hilly localities appreciated for their coolness, greenery and trekking routes such as Aquerino and Badi. Various roads lead to this river which is about an hour from where we live. We stocked up on water, sandwiches and snacks and of course sunscreen as the sun is really strong!!

The river is in the middle of nature surrounded by trees in one of the most heavily forested areas in the region. The Lentula river is part of the Lentula village, a handful of houses with a restaurant for tourists, a small and idyllic place, the river is popular because in addition to the coolness it has a deep draft where you can bathe and swim in the fresh water, the place especially in summer it is often full of people looking for refreshment.

We went there early in the morning, there are various paths that lead to the river, some not very beautiful, but you need good shoes and river shoes because obviously the river bed is stony, with various very beautiful and shady pebble beaches, delightful places where you can sit down just to relax and read a good book, like I did who, not knowing how to swim in the river, only wet my feet and legs, my stepdaughter is a skilled swimmer and made several dives despite the cold water! We had a really nice day refreshing ourselves and it's a place where dogs are welcome too and they enjoy the water which is very clean, a perfect little spot for hot summer days.
