Cantagrillo Fair and Country Roads/ Feria de Cantagrillo y Caminos Rurales.

Dear friends, how are you? I hope I saw Porto with me in the little tour I did on Sunday at the Cantagrillo Sunday fair. Cantagrillo is a village on the plain immersed in the countryside and if you understand the name translated into English it means the song of the cricket because it was a place surrounded by fields where evidently and crickets often sang. It is very well known in the area for rural life and is also known for its particular fairs and festivals especially in spring on the estate, we were very frequented by the Sunday fair. Once you arrive in Cantagrillo the road is very beautiful and has a path with magnificent views of the countryside, if you cross various paths scattered across the plain with very pretty villas at the foot, countryside and village churches, it is a very quiet route with little traffic, with a large industrial area near this place but I don't think it is very interesting to visit. Cantagrillo is in the municipality of Serravalle Pistoiese, a fairly large municipality that covers the entire plain. It is a small hamlet but much loved by the locals. In addition to the Sunday fair, they often hold fairs dedicated to agriculture, festivals dedicated to Tuscan cuisine and fairs that concern tractors, rural life and even craftsmanship. It is a very active town, albeit small, and every weekend they do something. We don't go there often because it is a bit far away, but this Sunday we wanted to see the fair and the market and so we decided to take a trip to these parts.

Queridos amigos, ¿cómo están? Espero haber visto Oporto conmigo en el pequeño viaje que hice el domingo a la feria dominical de Cantagrillo. Cantagrillo es un pueblo de llanura inmerso en el campo y si se entiende el nombre traducido al español también significa el canto del grillo porque era un lugar rodeado de campos donde evidentemente los grillos cantaban a menudo. Es muy conocida en la zona por su vida rural y también es conocida por sus particulares ferias y fiestas sobre todo en primavera en la finca, nosotros éramos muy frecuentados por la feria del domingo. Una vez llegas a Cantagrillo la carretera es muy bonita y tiene un sendero con magnificas vistas al campo, si te cruzas con varios caminos repartidos por el llano con villas muy bonitas al pie, campiña e iglesias del pueblo, es una ruta muy tranquila y con poco tráfico, con una gran zona industrial cerca de este lugar pero no creo que sea muy interesante de visitar. Cantagrillo se encuentra en el municipio de Serravalle Pistoiese, un municipio bastante grande que cubre toda la llanura. Es una pequeña aldea pero muy querida por los lugareños. Además de la feria dominical, a menudo se celebran ferias dedicadas a la agricultura, fiestas dedicadas a la cocina toscana y ferias que tienen que ver con los tractores, la vida rural e incluso la artesanía. Es un pueblo muy activo, aunque pequeño, y cada fin de semana hacen algo. No vamos a menudo porque está un poco lejos, pero este domingo queríamos ver la feria y el mercado y por eso decidimos hacer una excursión por estos lares.

When we got to the fair we found a lot of people but fortunately finding parking was easy, we were a little disappointed though because we thought the fair was bigger but in the end it was just a long avenue closed to traffic. However there were still many stalls of various products especially clothing, household products and food, there were really a lot of clothing stalls too bad they all sold more or less the same things and at high prices, maybe we got too used to buying at Primark ah ah ah. However the fair was full and it was not easy to walk and see the stalls, however I, as a true glutton, was particularly attracted by a stall that sold sweets, waffles, donuts and filled bomboloni, I could not resist and I bought a nice waffle with chocolate and cream, a real delight for only three euros and fifty cents! Eating it was a real satisfaction, in fact that stall was full of adults and children and we had to queue a bit but it was worth it. We then wandered around the fair a bit, my husband bought himself some accessories to perfume the car and then we left, going back along the country roads full of cypresses, my favorite trees that make you understand immediately that you are in Tuscany. It was a pleasant and simple tour even if the fair was not big we still found something to buy and as always I found something good to eat!

Cuando llegamos a la feria encontramos mucha gente pero afortunadamente encontrar aparcamiento fue fácil, aunque nos quedamos un poco decepcionados porque pensábamos que la feria era más grande pero al final solo era una larga avenida cerrada al tráfico. Sin embargo, todavía había muchos puestos que vendían diversos productos, especialmente ropa, productos para el hogar y alimentos. Realmente habían muchos puestos de ropa, es una pena que todos vendieran más o menos lo mismo y a precios elevados. Quizás nos hemos acostumbrado demasiado a comprar en Primark, ah ah ah. Sin embargo, la feria estaba llena y no era fácil pasear y ver los puestos, sin embargo, como soy un glotón me atrajo especialmente un puesto que vendía dulces, gofres, donuts y bomboloni rellenos, no pude resistirme y compré un rico gofre con chocolate y nata, una auténtica delicia por sólo tres euros y cincuenta céntimos! Comerlo fue una auténtica satisfacción, de hecho ese mostrador estaba lleno de adultos y niños y tuvimos que hacer un poco de cola pero valió la pena. Luego paseamos un poco por la feria, mi marido se compró algunos accesorios para perfumar el coche y luego partimos, volviendo por caminos rurales también llenos de cipreses, mis árboles favoritos y que te hacen entender inmediatamente que estás en la Toscana. Fue un recorrido agradable y sencillo, aunque la feria no era grande, aún así encontramos algo para comprar y como siempre encontré algo bueno para comer.
