Good evening, blog friends, how are you? Luckily, the weather here is a bit gray, which is a good thing for me, because I much prefer rain to scorching sun. Today my husband and I decided to take one of our usual walks away from our village, near the main city of Pistoia. If you follow me, you'll know that my city is surrounded by many beautiful rural areas that never cease to amaze me with their beauty. Today we decided to go for a walk in two villages I already knew from cycling there as a girl with friends: Piuvica and Bottegaccia. They are located in the rural area that connects Pistoia to the town of Casalguidi. This area is known for being a very quiet place, and in fact, you can see many children running freely on foot or on bicycles in the fields and streets, something unthinkable in busier areas. We first visited Piuvica, where they also hold small festivals in the summer. Piuvica owes its name to an old parish church. Today, it remains an area that lives thanks to agriculture, with the inhabitants having built their houses in front of their fields.

Buenas noches, amigos del blog, ¿qué tal? Por suerte, el tiempo aquí está un poco gris, lo cual me viene bien, porque prefiero la lluvia al sol abrasador. Hoy mi marido y yo decidimos dar uno de nuestros paseos habituales fuera de nuestro pueblo, cerca de la ciudad principal, Pistoia. Si me seguís, sabréis que mi ciudad está rodeada de preciosas zonas rurales que nunca dejan de sorprenderme con su belleza. Hoy decidimos dar un paseo por dos pueblos que ya conocía de mis paseos en bicicleta de chica con amigas: Piuvica y Bottegaccia. Están situados en la zona rural que conecta Pistoia con el pueblo de Casalguidi. Esta zona es conocida por ser muy tranquila, y de hecho, se pueden ver muchos niños corriendo libremente a pie o en bicicleta por los campos y calles, algo impensable en zonas más concurridas. Primero visitamos Piuvica, donde también se celebran pequeños festivales en verano. Piuvica debe su nombre a una antigua iglesia parroquial. Hoy en día sigue siendo una zona que vive gracias a la agricultura, habiendo construido sus habitantes sus casas frente a sus campos.

Piuvica is actually made up mostly of fields and scattered farmhouses. I really like the view of these rural areas, even more so today when it was a bit rainy. The gray sky above the fields is magnificent, in my opinion! I can imagine myself under the gray sky, sitting on the porch of a farmhouse reading a good book while looking out over the expanses of fields before me. Then we continued to Bottegaccia, which I liked the most because it's a small village made up of many really pretty, colorful houses, also surrounded by expanses of fields. Some houses were even made of stone or red brick, but they were all very beautiful and well-kept. I'm a little envious of the people who live there. Like Piuvica, Bottegaccia is a predominantly rural area, with only houses and fields, but at least here there were many more houses than fields, perhaps because it's close to the town of Casalguidi, which we visited later and which I'll tell you more about soon. I enjoyed taking pictures of these magnificent places and I needed to take a walk in nature, it always helps me relax.

They're perfect places for walking or cycling, although I don't recommend them during the heat because, unfortunately, there's little shade along the way and not even a fountain. But with the weather like today, it was a long, pleasant walk, and you can then do it, as we did, partly by car and partly on foot, because there are many other small rural villages nearby that are worth visiting, some a little further away.

Piuvica se compone principalmente de campos y casas de campo dispersas. Me encanta la vista de estas zonas rurales, aún más hoy que llovió un poco. ¡El cielo gris sobre los campos es magnífico, en mi opinión! Me imagino bajo ese cielo gris, sentado en el porche de una casa de campo leyendo un buen libro mientras contemplaba los extensos campos que tenía delante. Luego continuamos hacia Bottegaccia, que fue el que más me gustó porque es un pequeño pueblo con muchas casas preciosas y coloridas, también rodeado de extensos campos. Algunas casas incluso eran de piedra o ladrillo rojo, pero todas eran muy bonitas y estaban muy bien cuidadas. Siento un poco de envidia de la gente que vive allí. Al igual que Piuvica, Bottegaccia es una zona predominantemente rural, con solo casas y campos, pero al menos aquí había muchas más casas que campos, quizás porque está cerca del pueblo de Casalguidi, que visitamos más tarde y del que les contaré más pronto. Disfruté tomando fotografías de estos magníficos lugares y necesitaba dar un paseo por la naturaleza, siempre me ayuda a relajarme.

Son lugares perfectos para caminar o ir en bicicleta, aunque no los recomiendo con el calor porque, por desgracia, hay poca sombra en el camino y ni siquiera una fuente. Pero con el tiempo de hoy, fue un paseo largo y agradable, y luego se puede hacer, como hicimos nosotros, parte en coche y parte a pie, porque hay muchos otros pequeños pueblos rurales cerca que merecen la pena visitar, algunos un poco más lejos.
