Warm greetings to all my travellers from all over the world it is a pleasure for me to greet you on this lovely Saturday.

Estuve caminando con mi hermano por todo el largo de la avenida libertador y al final conducirnos hacia el inicio de la famosa avenida del milagro justamente al lado del centro comercial traki y pudimos encontrar una pequeña plaza de caminaría que rinde un tributo especial a los 200 años de la Batalla de Carabobo, los venezolanos nos podemos olvidar esta fecha histórica del 24 de junio en lo que se marcó la batalla de Carabobo, muy importante para todos y además ese mismo día hace más de un mes, vivimos un acontecimiento bastante triste que nos marcó a todo la terrible tragedia del terremoto de la guaira, que afectó también a otros estados, ahora bien, primera vez que veía este espacio y es una plaza recientemente construida.

I was walking with my brother the whole length of Avenida Libertador, and at the end we headed towards the start of the famous Avenida del Milagro, right next to the Traki shopping centre, where we came across a small pedestrian square that pays special tribute to the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo. We Venezuelans cannot forget this historic date, 24 June, which marks the Battle of Carabobo a very important event for us all. Furthermore, on that very same day, just over a month ago, we experienced a rather sad event that left a deep mark on us all: the terrible tragedy of the La Guaira earthquake, which also affected other states. Now, this was the first time I’d seen this space, and it’s a recently built square.

En el monumento, podemos ver una gran base de hierro que esta hace referencia a la gran espada del Simón Bolívar, este monumento se encuentra también en muchos estados de Venezuela y en el zuliano, podía hacer la excepción una representación de esta gran batalla que no solo liberó a nuestro país sino a América Latina donde se marcó, parte importante de la independencia de nuestro país. Ahora bien esta es una pequeña caminería en donde podemos encontrar diversas bancas en donde sentarnos, ubicada en un punto importante del comercio de la ciudad.

At the monument, we can see a large iron base that symbolises Simón Bolívar’s great sword; this monument can also be found in many states across Venezuela, and in Zulia, it serves as a representation of this great battle which not only liberated our country but also Latin America, marking an important part of our country’s independence. This is a small pedestrian area where there are various benches to sit on, situated in a key commercial hub of the city.

La plaza tiene una ubicación fantástica, puesto que está rodeada de diversas paradas de carritos importantes de la ciudad, así como también enfrente del museo del barro, esta gran edificación, totalmente antigua histórica y abandonada, también al lado del traki, justamente enfrente del paseo del doctor Humberto Fernández Morán, detrás del mismo podemos ver el Museo agrícola y pecario, que tiene una edificación bastante interesante y unas obras de arte esculturales en forma de relieve pero éste se encuentra totalmente cerrado, no está abierto al público sería interesante que las personas pudieran entrar y conocerlo, este tiene un estilo Art Deco.

The square is in a fantastic location, as it is surrounded by several of the city’s main food van stops, and is also opposite the Clay Museum, this large, completely historic and derelict building, and next to the Traki, right opposite the Doctor Humberto Fernández Morán Promenade. Behind it, we can see the Agricultural and Livestock Museum, which has a rather interesting building and some sculptural works of art in the form of reliefs; however, it is completely closed and not open to the public. It would be interesting if people could go inside and explore it; it is built in the Art Deco style.

Por último, el paseo estuvo enmarcado por el gran calor y el sol maravino, pero sin embargo, me gusta poder sumergirme en la vida cotidiana de las personas que trabajan, así como poder pasear y vivir totalmente experiencias diferentes a las que estoy acostumbrada, cuando estoy en casa, sin duda, alguna fue un gran recorrido me gusta conocer aprender, profundizar en los lugares de nuestra ciudad que, a pesar de que el marabino no le dé tanta importancia, forman parte de la historia de la ciudad, mis queridos viajeros por leerme.

Finally, the walk took place in the intense heat and under the blazing sun, but nevertheless, I love being able to immerse myself in the daily lives of working people, as well as being able to wander around and experience things that are completely different from what I’m used to back home. Without a doubt, it was a fantastic tour. I love discovering, learning and exploring the parts of our city which, even though the people of Maracaibo may not attach much importance to them, form part of the city’s history.
