Warm greetings to all my fellow travelers from around the world. It is my pleasure to greet you on this beautiful Tuesday and share such a special day as November 18th with all Zulianos.

El 17 de Noviembre en visperas de la aparición número 316 años de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá un día super especial de reencuentro especial con toda la feligresia Zuliana, el pueblo marabino se va de manera tradicional a cantarle sus mañanitas y cumpleaños feliz a las 12:00am de la noche, esta vez como todos los años consecutivos que tengo yendo a esta hermosa fiesta es algo espectacular, sin duda alguna estaba bastante emocionada por todo lo bello que significa la Virgencita María en mi vida.

On November 17, on the eve of the 316th anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, a very special day of reunion with all the parishioners of Zulia, the people of Maracaibo traditionally go to sing her “mañanitas” and “happy birthday” at 12:00 a.m. This time, as in all the previous years that I have been going to this beautiful festival, it was spectacular. Without a doubt, I was very excited by all the beautiful things that the Virgin Mary means in my life.

Esta vez nos fuimos más temprano que todos los años, justamente a las 7:30 de la noche, ya esta hora se estaban presentando las distintas agrupaciones gaiteras, que es la musica tradicional de esta tierra, la gaita es la musica que nos representa en esta tierra ella siempre narra y es una protesta especial al pueblo Zuliana, serenata perfecta que busca hablar de la manera más hermosa de la madre de Cristo nuestra patrona la Virgen, esta musica es con tambora, furro, charrasca y también otros instrumentos musicales.

This time we left earlier than usual, at exactly 7:30 p.m. At this time, the different gaitera groups were already performing. Gaitera is the traditional music of this land. Gaitera is the music that represents us in this land. It always tells stories and is a special protest to the people of Zulia, a perfect serenade that seeks to speak in the most beautiful way about the mother of Christ, our patron saint, the Virgin Mary. This music is played with drums, furro, charrasca, and other musical instruments.

Al llegar justamente no habían tantas personas, por lo que aprovechamos de sentarnos en buen lugar donde tuvieramos la mejor visibilidad de la gran tarima que colocaron, la Basílica o el Santuario San Juan de Dios, se veía totalmente impetuoso de noche, bastante fascinante por completo me fascino, este año habian sillas para todas las personas a diferencia de otros años que no habian sillas para que las personas se sentaran, podrias estar cómodamente disfrurando de las visperas y para ver la pronta salida de la Chinita.

When we arrived, there weren't that many people, so we took advantage of the opportunity to sit in a good spot where we had the best view of the large stage that had been set up. The Basilica or Sanctuary of San Juan de Dios looked absolutely stunning at night. It was completely fascinating; I was completely captivated. This year there were chairs for everyone, unlike other years when there were no chairs for people to sit on. You could sit comfortably and enjoy the vespers and watch the early departure of La Chinita.

Estaban dejando pasar a las personas a ver la imagen de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá no perdí la oportunidad de pasar hacia dentro de la Basílica para mirar a la Virgen Chinita en su trono, justamente había una pequeña cola espere un rato para poder der ingresar, al entrar hacia la Basílica de la Virgen, estaban los servidores de María con sus hermosos trajes blancos, ellos son los responsables de cargar en sus hombros la imagen de nuestra Santa Patrona la Virgen Chinita, también ellos entregran las ofrendas a la Virgen, también la resguardan.

They were letting people in to see the image of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. I didn't miss the opportunity to go inside the Basilica to see the Virgin Chinita on her throne. There was a small line, so I waited a while to get in. Upon entering the Basilica of the Virgin, there were the servants of Mary in their beautiful white robes. They are responsible for carrying the image of our patron saint, the Virgin Chinita, on their shoulders. They also deliver offerings to the Virgin and protect her.

Al entrar en la basilica había un hermoso arreglo de globos que este era con el logos de la fiesta patronales de este año, con la imagen de la Virgen Chiquinquirá y San Gregorio Hernandez, Santa Carmen Rendiles, este año las fiestas patronales estan de manera central girando en torno a la canonización de estos Santos Venezolanos, de la virgen de Chiquinquirá, sin duda alguna me encantó este arreglo era bastante gigante.

Upon entering the basilica, there was a beautiful balloon arrangement featuring the logos of this year's patron saint festivities, with images of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, Saint Gregory Hernandez, and Saint Carmen Rendiles. This year, the patron saint festivities are centered around the canonization of these Venezuelan saints and the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. I absolutely loved this arrangement; it was quite enormous.

Hasta que finalmente tuve la Santa Tablita reliquia de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá, la misma con la llego a esta tierra cuando María Cardenas quien era la humilde viejita, que se encontraba lavando a orillas del Lago de Maracaibo, le causo curiosidad lo diferente que era, la llevo a su casa para tapar una tinaja de agua hasta que esta se resplandeció por completo iluminando, desde ese entonces hace 316 años la Virgen se quedó en el Zulia, ya que ella vino desde Colombia, también eligio el tiempo San Juan de Dios para quedarse para siempre aquí.

Until I finally got the Holy Tablet relic of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, the same one that came to this land when María Cárdenas, who was a humble old lady, was washing clothes on the shores of Lake Maracaibo. She was curious about how different it was, so she took it home to cover a water jar until it glowed completely, illuminating everything. Since then, 316 years ago, the Virgin has remained in Zulia, since she came from Colombia, and she also chose the time of San Juan de Dios to stay here forever.

Esta tan bella, con sus flores, rosas de color rojo y rosado totalmente vibrantes, exalte para una de mis peticiones y agradecimiento por todas sus maravillas en mi, sin dud alguna fue fascinante por completo.

It is so beautiful, with its flowers, vibrant red and pink roses, exalting one of my requests and gratitude for all its wonders in me. Without a doubt, it was completely fascinating.

Se presentaron muchas agrupaciones gaiteras entre ellas, la gran celebración la hizo Alitasia es gaita, una emblemática agrupación gaitera que tiene mas de dos decadas deleitándonos con su gran música, entre ellas "Hablame de Maracaibo", la gaita mas reconocida que a todos nos ga hecho llorar por todo lo que representa, ellos se encargaron de animar a cada persona que se encontraban aplaudiendo cada gaita, por último a las 11pm aparecieron los gaiteros del pozon, en conjunto con el gran Neguito Borjas el cual ha enaltecido y llevado la gaita internacionalmente, el canto muchos de sus grandes temas, canto la elegida hasta que salio el gran pastel de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá quien este año era de San Gregorio Hernández y Santa Carmen Rendiles, conjuntamente Neguito Borjas canto el cumpleaños gaitero.

Many gaita groups performed, including Alitasia es gaita, an iconic gaita group that has been delighting us with its great music for more than two decades, including “Hablame de Maracaibo,” the most famous gaita that has made us all cry because of everything it represents. They were in charge of cheering up everyone who was applauding each gaita. Finally, at 11 p.m., the gaiteros del pozon appeared, together with the great Neguito Borjas, who has exalted and taken the gaita internationally. He sang many of his great songs, including “La Elegida,” until the great cake of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá was brought out, which this year was from San Gregorio Hernández and Santa Carmen Rendiles. Together with Neguito Borjas, he sang “Cumpleaños Gaitero.”

No todo acabo con el cumpleaños feliz a la Virgen Chinita, luego me regrese a casa para volver a las 4am cuando le toco a mi grupo Cursillo de Cristiandad la Santa Misa a las 5am me pasaron buscando con cierto cielo fui a ver de nuevo a la Virgencita y oftecer la Santa misa por todas sus maravillas, cuando salimos de la Santa Misa, ya la aurora se estaba asumando para regalarnos su gran belleza de un día especial de fiesta y solemnidad de nuestra gran patrona la Virgen de Chiquinquirá reuniendo a todos sus hijos en musica, tradición, fe, promesas, cantos y peticiones especiales, como también milagros llevados a cabo sin duda alguna, momento bastante especial.

Not everything ended with the happy birthday to the Virgin Chinita. Then I returned home to come back at 4 a.m. when it was my Cursillo de Cristiandad group's turn for Holy Mass at 5 a.m. They came looking for me with a certain sky. I went to see the Virgin again and offer Holy Mass for all her wonders. When we left Holy Mass, the dawn was already breaking to give us the great beauty of a special day of celebration and solemnity for our great patron saint, the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, gathering all her children in music, tradition, faith, promises, songs, and special requests, as well as miracles performed without a doubt. It was a very special moment.
