Second gallery of the Centenario Art Museum, displaying its antiquities. | La segunda sala del Museo de Arte del Centenario, donde se exponen sus antigüedades.

Gratos saludos tengan todos mis queridos amigos viajeros de todas partes del mundo es un placer para mi saludarles en este jueves, para seguirle mostrando un lugar bastante interesante de mi ciudad seguimos explorando y conociendo cada parte del Museo de Arte Centenario esta vez en su sala de poesía y de lectura.

Warm greetings to all my dear fellow travellers from all over the world. It is a pleasure for me to greet you on this Thursday, as I continue to show you a rather interesting part of my city; we are continuing to explore and discover every corner of the Centenario Art Museum, this time in its poetry and reading room.

Explorado la primera Sala de la Sala de Poemas y Lectura de Udón Perez, es un espacio de Biblioteca en donde también hay muchas antiguedades también buscando preservar la historia de Maracaibo, sus obras artisticas, utensilios de gran antiguedad entre otros, podemos encontrarlo en este hermoso espacio en particular, una de las cosas interesantes que posea, este lugar es que tiene muchas reseñas históricas de nuestra ciudad, así como también podemos ver un hermoso retrato de Gladis Vera una gran gaitera, quien falleció en el 2015, aparte de ser este lugar lleno de referencias bibliográficas de libros innumerables, del patrimonio de nuestra ciudad, podemos ver registros artísticos y fotografías, tráfico plasmado en cada parte de sus paredes así como también mucho teléfonos locales antiguos bastante interesantes particularmente.

Having explored the first room of Udón Pérez’s Poetry and Reading Room, a library space which also houses many antiques and seeks to preserve the history of Maracaibo including its artistic works and ancient artefacts, amongst other things we can find, in this beautiful space in particular, one of its most interesting features: is that it contains many historical accounts of our city. We can also see a beautiful portrait of Gladis Vera, a great gaitero who passed away in 2015. As well as being filled with bibliographical references to countless books on our city’s heritage, the space features artistic records and photographs, with scenes of street life depicted on every part of its walls, as well as a number of particularly interesting old local telephones.

Este espacio se ve que recientemente fue remodelado, ya que posees paredes rústicas sin completar su frizado en cemento podemos ver un cuadro bastante colorido y pintoresco de la gaitera Gladis Vera quién en algunos momentos de la vida no cantó sus gaitas expresando, la protesta contante y el desamor una de sus gaitas más recordadas tiende hacer amor marginal, podemos ver teléfonos fijos locales totalmente antiguos al pasar del tiempo todo se ha ido modernizando por lo que completamente estos teléfonos fijos quedaron desplazados por la tecnología del celular pero podemos ver varios diseños de estos teléfonos en el museo teléfono candelabro en el su diseño se separa del receptor para colocarse en el oído, mientras que la otra parte era en donde se colocaba, los teléfonos de discos retros en donde se le da vuelta al disco y se entroducen los dedos para marcar los numeros, así como innumerables botellas antiguas de cervezas regionales y nacionales antiguas, un sin de revistas de la historia de Maracaibo también.

This space appears to have been recently refurbished, as it features rustic walls with unfinished cement render; we can see a rather colourful and picturesque portrait of the gaitera Gladis Vera, who at certain times in her life sang her gaitas to express constant protest and heartbreak. One of her most memorable songs is Amor Marginal. We can see very old local landline telephones; as time has passed, everything has become modernised, so these landlines have been completely replaced by mobile technology, but we can see various designs of these telephones in the museum the ‘candelabra’ telephone, whose design features a handset that detaches to be held to the ear, whilst the other part was where it was placed; retro rotary-dial telephones where you turn the dial and insert your fingers to dial the numbers; as well as countless old bottles of regional and national beers, and a host of magazines on the history of Maracaibo too.

Podemos ver en numerables botellas antiguas de bebidas gaseosas, como el refresco, entre ellas se encuentran las botellas del famoso Chinoto a su vez, también podemos ver de la Malta Caracas, cervezas Caraca, Regional, así como también las cervezas Zulia, entre otros más pude leer ciertas revistas y en su gran mayoría, estas se encargan de ser ediciones especiales acerca de reseñas de lugares históricos de la ciudad de Maracaibo, así como también de personajes culturales, bastante influyentes de nuestra ciudad, es bonito que se conserven en este espacio esas ediciones especiales que ya generalmente no viene porque ya la prensa impresa no existe en la localidad, todos son medio netamente digitales por los por lo que este lugar plasma, lo que fue de cierta manera la gran historia interesante de un medio preso, que ya prácticamente paso a la historia.

We can see countless old bottles of fizzy drinks, such as soft drinks; amongst them are bottles of the famous Chinoto, as well as bottles of Malta Caracas, Caraca and Regional beers, and Zulia beers, amongst others. I was able to read certain magazines, the vast majority of which are special editions featuring reviews of historic sites in the city of Maracaibo, as well as cultural figures who have been quite influential in our city. It is lovely that these special editions are preserved here, as they are generally no longer available because the print media no longer exists in the area; everything is now almost entirely digital. This place therefore captures what was, in a way, the fascinating history of a print medium that has now practically become a thing of the past.

Podemos ver cuadros que esto tienen a explicar de cierta manera la historia de la ciudadanía de Maracaibo a sido modificada en su transcurrir del tiempo, ya que ciertamente algunas fachadas de las antiguas casas de Maracaibo se han modificado aunque de cierta manera no pierden su edificación o esencia, si han sido cambiadas, como lo fe la primera, segunda y tercera casa colonial, así como anteriormente se fabricaban lindos puentes para atravesar todas las cañadas de la Ciudad como es el puente Oleary y el Puente Muñoz justamente en 1889, aún se conservan totalmente.

We can see that, to a certain extent, the history of Maracaibo’s citizens has been altered over time, as some of the façades of the city’s old houses have certainly been modified, although in a way they have not lost their architectural character or essence, if they have been altered, as was the case with the first, second and third colonial houses; likewise, beautiful bridges were once built to span all the city’s ravines, such as the Oleary Bridge and the Muñoz Bridge, both dating from 1889, which are still fully intact today.

Un punto interesante de tantos que tiene esta gran sala es el famoso Arquitecto Belga que le dio tantas arquitecturas interesantes a nuestra ciudad que no puede quedar en el olvido como lo es León Jeronimé Hoet, quien fue el creador de tantas obras como lo es la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá, el hotel Nueva Granada, el antiguo aeropuerto de Grano de Oro, el Tetro Baralt y la Plaza Parque El Buen Maestro, El instituto Proinfancia, conocido actualmente como el hospital de Niños de Veritas y la Capilla de Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús, El Seguro Social de Veritas, el Museo de Rafael Urdaneta y el famoso Centro de Arte Lía Bermudez, gracias a este gran hombre podemos tener arquitecturas facinantes y que se encuentran vigenges de utilidad en nuestra ciudad de Maracaibo menod el hotel Granada.

One of the many interesting features of this magnificent hall is the famous Belgian architect who gave our city so many remarkable architectural works that he must not be forgotten: León Jeronimé Hoet, who was the architect behind so many buildings, including the Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá, the Hotel Nueva Granada, the old Grano de Oro airport, the Baralt Theatre and the Plaza Parque El Buen Maestro, the Proinfancia Institute, now known as the Veritas Children’s Hospital, and the Chapel of Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús; the Veritas Social Security Centre; the Rafael Urdaneta Museum; and the famous Lía Bermúdez Art Centre. Thanks to this great man, we are able to enjoy these fascinating architectural works, which continue to serve a useful purpose in our city of Maracaibo, with the exception of the Hotel Granada.

Tambien encontramos en esta área sumadoras mecánicas, antiguas calculadoras de escritorios, reloj fechador electrónico, extintor antiguos, receptores de banda de radio sony, máquinas de escribir antiguas estos modelos eran netamente de colección, antigos boleteros que eran usados para tomar los boletos del transporte público de la ciudad, estos permitía organizar los boletos, como antiguos proyector de películas bastante antiguos de tiempos pasados.

In this area, we also found mechanical adding machines, old desktop calculators, an electronic date stamp, old fire extinguishers, Sony radio receivers, and vintage typewriters these models were clearly collector’s items as well as old ticket dispensers that were used to issue tickets for the city’s public transport, which helped to organise the tickets, and some very old film projectors from days gone by.

Mis viajeros del mundo fue un paseo bastante interesante. Por esta sala, aquí estuve detalladamente durante un largo tiempo, revisando muchos del la reseñas que se encuentran aquí, así como contemplando cada uno de los utensilios antiguos e históricos e interesantes, sin duda alguna me encanta visitar este museo les seguiré compartiendo una próxima publicación la última sala muchas gracias mis viajeros por leerme nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad.

My fellow travellers, this was a really interesting tour. I spent quite a long time in this room, taking a close look at many of the exhibits on display here, as well as admiring each of the ancient, historical and fascinating artefacts.
