Palm Sunday with my niece Abby. | Domingo de ramos con mi sobrina Abby. 🌿

Gratos saludos tengan todos mis queridos amigos de esta comunidad de Family&Friends en este lindo Lunes Santo inicio de la semana santa quiero mostrarle a todos ustedes como la pase con mi pequeña sobrina Abby.

Warm greetings to all my dear friends in the Family&Friends community. On this lovely Holy Monday, the start of Holy Week, I’d like to share with you all how I spent the day with my little niece Abby.

El domingo de ramos es decir ayer me levante bastante temprano puesto que a las 7:00am debía estar en el sitio donde entregarían las palmas decidí alistame y llevarme a mis sobrinas, pero mi sobrina mayor me dijo que no quería asistir puesto que la Santa Misa se demora mucho, me lleve a mi sobrina pequeña Abby ella estaba bastante contenta de ir a la misa iba con mucha alegría, yo estaba bastante asustada ya que pensaba que podía aturdirse ya que al ser misa de precepto estas tienen jacer bastante largas.

On Palm Sunday that is, yesterday I got up quite early because I had to be at the place where they were handing out the palm branches by 7:00 am. I decided to get ready and take my nieces with me, but my eldest niece told me she didn’t want to go because Holy Mass takes a long time. I took my youngest niece, Abby; she was really happy to go to Mass and was full of joy. I was quite worried as I thought she might get bored, since these are obligatory Masses and tend to be quite long.

Llegamos justamente a las 7:15am en la iglesia ya se podía apreciar que la iglesia estaba bastante llena, sin embargo entre mi tenía culpa por no ir a lugar a buscar los ramos sino en quedarme en la iglesia para no perder el puesto con la pequeña Abby, esperamos hasta 5 para las 8:00, justamente el padre venia en procesión hsta el lugar de donde repartierón las palmas, todos de pies estabamos cantando la clásica canción de: "Hosana eh", Hosana ah", mi sobrinita Abby movia su pequeño ramo y bailaba a su vez.

We arrived at the church at exactly 7.15 am; it was already clear that the church was quite full. However, I felt a bit guilty for not going out to collect the palm branches but staying in the church so as not to lose our spot with little Abby. We waited until just before 8.00 am; just then, the priest was coming in procession to the place where the palms were being handed out, We were all standing, singing the classic song: ‘Hosanna, eh, Hosanna, ah’, whilst my little niece Abby waved her little palm branch and danced along.

Después llego el momento de bendecir los ramos el padre pasa por toda la asamblea bendiciendo los distintos ramos y rociandonos a todos agua bendita, en este momento la pequeña Abby cantaba y bailaba toda risueña, en este momento cantaban muchos cantos hasta que el padre termino por completo de bendecir a cada una de las personas de manera especial, en este momento todos estaban felices cantando la música bailando también.

Then came the moment to bless the palm branches; the priest made his way through the congregation, blessing the various branches and sprinkling us all with holy water. At that moment, little Abby was singing and dancing, all smiles; many hymns were sung until the priest had finished blessing each person individually in a special way. At that moment, everyone was happy, singing along and dancing too.

El padre luego leyó la pasión de Cristo una lectura bastante larga, conjuntamente pensaba que mi sobrina se iba a poner de mal humor pero en realidad se porto bastante bien, escuchando la lectura que se encontraba leyendo el padre habían demasiada personas tanto así que muchas de ellas se quedarón de pie la cantidad de la iglesia se sobrepasaba por completo, por suerte al yo quedarme tenía un puesto para mi pequeña sobrina y yo, me encanto toda la reflexión del evangelio, vivir esta palabra con mi sobrina me hizo sentir bien como tía.

The priest then read the Passion of Christ – quite a long reading. I thought my niece was going to get grumpy, but she actually behaved very well. As the priest read, there were so many people that many of them had to stand; the church was completely packed. Luckily, when I arrived, there was a seat for my little niece and me. I loved the whole reflection on the Gospel; experiencing this word with my niece made me feel good as an aunt.

Mi sobrina me decía ya al final: "tía falta poco", yo le decía que si, ya en este punto ella quería irse, justamente dierón cada uno dd los avisos, termino la misa, Abby quería caminar hacia el altar luego fuimos a saludar al Santísimo, para luego ir a ver al Nazareno, este día domingo de ramos es bastante feliz para nosotros puesto que nuestro señor Jesucristo hace su entrada triunfal a Jerusalen nosotros debemos abrir nuestro corazón para que el también haga esa entrada en nuestra vida.

My niece said to me right at the end: "Auntie, it won't be long now," and I told her yes, by this point she wanted to leave; just then the announcements were made, Mass ended, Abby wanted to walk up to the altar, then we went to pay our respects to the Blessed Sacrament, and then to see the Nazarene. This Palm Sunday is a very happy day for us, as our Lord Jesus Christ makes his triumphal entry into Jerusalem; we must open our hearts so that he may also make that entry into our lives.

Por último fuimos a tomarnos una linda foto en los ornamentos de decoración bastante hermosos, representado por la cruz que es la pasión de Cristo a mi pequeña Abby le encanto estar en misa, al llegar le dijo a su mamá que se sentía muy feliz, me despido hasta una próxima oportunidad queridos amigos.

Finally, we went to have a lovely photo taken in front of the beautiful decorations, featuring the cross symbolising the Passion of Christ. My little Abby absolutely loved being at Mass; when we arrived, she told her mum she felt very happy. I’ll say goodbye for now, dear friends, until next time.
