Majestic Cathedral of Merida. | Majestuosa Catedral de Mérida.

La basilica catedral de Mérida o Basilica Catedral Metropolitana Inmaculada Concepción, se encientra localizada justamente en el centro historico de la Ciudad de Mérida Venezuela, justamente en frente en la Plaza Bolivar de la localidad, es una iglesia totalmente majestuosa y hermosa, debido a su gran estilo clásico que posee tiene un estilo arquitectónico particular que es una mezcla gotica, esta fue diseñada o construida en 1803 pero esta obra quedó a la mitad y fue culminada justamente en 1960 esta hermosa catedral es una iglesia con gran altura, se dice que esta entre una de las catedrales más hermosa que se encuentran en Venezuela.

The Basilica Cathedral of Merida or Basilica Catedral Metropolitana Inmaculada Concepcion, is located right in the historic center of the city of Merida Venezuela, just in front of the Plaza Bolivar of the town, is a totally majestic and beautiful church, due to its great classical style that has a particular architectural style that is a mixture of gothic, this was designed or built in 1803 but this work was left halfway and was completed just in 1960 this beautiful cathedral is a church with great height, it is said that this is among one of the most beautiful cathedrals found in Venezuela.

En el interior de esta catedral se encuentran los restos mortales que fueron donados por el papa Pío VI, al segundo arzobispo de Mérida que en ese entonces era el monseñor Cándida Torrijos en 1974 de San Clemente mártir, en el interior de la Catedral existen objetos religiosos que poseen un gran valor histórico justamente al lado de la Catedral está el Palacio arzobispal que es la sede arquidiocesana de Mérida conjuntamente con el museo arquidiocesano donde también se albergan múltiples piezas de Gran valor e incidencia histórica.

Inside this cathedral are the mortal remains that were donated by Pope Pius VI, to the second archbishop of Merida who at that time was Monsignor Candida Torrijos in 1974 of San Clemente martyr, Inside the Cathedral there are religious objects that have a great historical value just next to the Cathedral is the Archbishop's Palace which is the archdiocesan headquarters of Merida along with the archdiocesan museum which also houses many pieces of great value and historical significance.

La iglesia se encuentra constituida formada por una sola planta en forma de una cruz latina y esta va a poseer una gran cúpula justamente en la nave central del techo, sus lados laterales se encuentran cubiertos por bóvedas y seis cúpulas que tienen un pequeño tamaño, justamente en su fachada externa se puede apreciar el gran estilo gótico y clásico que posee así como también una mezcla de colores totalmente marrones o pasteles, este recinto religioso es de gran importancia para cada uno de los merideños por su gran majestuosidad.

The church is constituted by a single plant in the form of a Latin cross and this one is going to possess a great dome just in the central nave of the roof, its lateral sides are covered by vaults and six domes that have a small size, just in its external facade you can appreciate the great gothic and classic style that possesses as well as a mixture of totally brown or pastel colors, this religious enclosure is of great importance for each one of the merideños by its great majesty.

Cabe destacar que a pesar de que no pudimos entrar a su zona interior pudimos disfrutar externamente de su gran belleza de la gran arquitectura clásica, diferente que posee esta catedral a diferencia del resto de las otras Iglesias, espero le haya gustado mucho esta publicación y hayan podido disfrutar y conocer más de los lugares turísticos e importantes del Estado Mérida de Venezuela.
