Este sábado qué pasó fue la bajada de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá en la Basílica, justamente en el casco central de la ciudad de Maracaibo, es la primera vez que fui a este gran evento tradicional que marca el inicio de la festividades decembrina de la feria Zuliana quise vivir y experimentar por primera vez este gran momento y acontecimiento que nos llena a todos de gran orgullo de fe y devoción, salí justamente aproximadamente a las 4 de la tarde para poder obtener un buen puesto, pero ya era bastante tarde debía irme más temprano para poder encontrar sillas disponibles, pero eso no fue un impedimento para encontrarme con la virgencita de Chiquinquirá.
This Saturday, the descent of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá took place in the Basilica, right in the center of the city of Maracaibo. It was the first time I attended this great traditional event that marks the beginning of the December festivities of the Zuliana fair. I wanted to live and experience this great moment and event for the first time, which fills us all with great pride, faith, and devotion. I left at around 4 p.m. to get a good spot, but it was already quite late. I should have left earlier to find available chairs, but that didn't stop me from seeing the Virgin of Chiquinquirá.
Me fui con mi novio en una vans de transporte público, llegamos caminando desde la avenida Libertador hasta el santuario de la Basílica al llegar, ya podíamos ver que había muchas personas y ya las calles estaban totalmente colapsada de personas, decidimos inicialmente colocarnos cerca de la Basílica por los laterales pero luego debido a la ubicación decide que nos cambiaramos desde ese punto, podríamos observar más de cerca la basílica habían tres pantallas distintas, tarimas con ubicaciones diferentes de personas, así como también los servidores de María, al llegar estos se encontraban recitando el rosario antes de la santa misa.
I went with my boyfriend in a public transport van. We walked from Libertador Avenue to the Basilica sanctuary. When we arrived, we could already see that there were many people and the streets were completely packed with people. We initially decided to stand near the Basilica on the sides, but then, due to the location, we decided to move from that spot so we could see the Basilica more closely. There were three different screens, platforms with different locations for people, as well as the servants of Mary. When they arrived, they were reciting the rosary before Holy Mass.
Mi novio Jorge y yo mientras esperábamos nos encontrábamos recitando algunas decenas del santo rosario, pero había mucho calor por lo que fue a comprar algunas cosas para nosotros, para poder comer y ganar fuerza para lo todo lo que se nos preparaba, sin duda alguna este fue un momento bastante espiritual de recitar para decena del Rosario, aparte de que era primera vez para mí el ir a la bajada, también ir acompañada de un novio nunca lo había experimentado y fue una experiencia bonita también, bastante diferente nos permitió vivir más cerca a nuestro noviazgo compartir y hacer algo más diferente juntos.
While we waited, my boyfriend Jorge and I recited several decades of the Holy Rosary, but it was very hot, so he went to buy some things for us to eat and gain strength for everything that was in store for us. Without a doubt, this was a very spiritual moment, reciting decades of the Rosary, apart from the fact that it was my first time going to the descent, and I had never experienced going with a boyfriend before, so it was also a beautiful experience. It was quite different and allowed us to grow closer in our relationship, sharing and doing something different together.
Justamente minuto después del rezo del santo rosario comenzó la Santa Eucaristía en la que estaban todos los sacerdotes de las iglesias de Maracaibo, esta misa especial en solemnidad a la bajada de la virgen y también por la reciente canonización del doctor San José Gregorio Hernández y también de la Santa Madre Carmen Rendiles, fue una misa bastante bonita y esta fue también corta no fue tan larga luego se disponían en el juramento, para autorizar la bajada de la Virgen esta fue descendiendo poco a poco para encontrarse con su pueblo posteriormente, llegó el momento de la anhelada bajada en el cual se encontró con cada uno de sus hijos un momento bastante significativo estaba sorprendida por la cantidad de personas que habían.
Just a minute after the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the Holy Eucharist began, attended by all the priests from the churches of Maracaibo. This special Mass was celebrated in solemnity for the descent of the Virgin and also for the recent canonization of Dr. San José Gregorio Hernández and Santa Madre Carmen Rendiles. It was a very beautiful Mass, and it was also short, not very long. Then they prepared for the oath to authorize the descent of the Virgin, who descended little by little to meet her people. Then came the moment of the long-awaited descent, in which she met each of her children. It was a very significant moment. She was surprised by the number of people who were there.
Por último fue una grata experiencia que llenó mi corazón el poder ver a la virgen en su bajada también, el cantar todas esas gaitas hermosas sin duda alguna mi corazón se lleno de mucha felicidad y mis ojos de lagrimas, les envito a quienes practican esta fe el poder asistir a estas lindas fiesas patronales, para vivir de manera especial la devoción de la Virgen de Chiquinquirá, sin duda alguna un momento bastante único y especial.
Finally, it was a wonderful experience that filled my heart to be able to see the Virgin Mary in her descent as well, and to hear all those beautiful bagpipes playing. Without a doubt, my heart was filled with happiness and my eyes with tears. I invite those who practice this faith to attend these beautiful patron saint festivals, to experience the devotion to the Virgin of Chiquinquirá in a special way. Without a doubt, it is a very unique and special moment.
