Warm greetings to all my dear travellers from all corners of the world; it is a pleasure for me to share with you on this occasion the Dolores Vargas París Square in Urdaneta.

Justamente en el sector "Las Veritas", cerca del casco central de la ciudad de Maracaibo podemos encontrarnos justamente detrás del museo general Rafael Urdaneta la plaza tributo a su esposa Dolores Vargas París de Urdaneta, justamente en frente del seguro social de la entidad, recorrer estas plazas tributos de personajes historicos de nuestra ciudad me permite acrentar el gran valor que le tengo a mi historia porque me parece totalmente fascinante poder profundizar en la vida de cada uno de ellos, siempre cuando iba a la Universidad tomaba los carros de Veritas y pasaban siempre por el frente veía esta plaza, me parecía bonita su escultura.

Right in the "Las Veritas" district, near the city centre of Maracaibo, we find, just behind the Rafael Urdaneta General Museum, the square dedicated to his wife, Dolores Vargas París de Urdaneta, right in front of the local social security office. Walking through these squares dedicated to historical figures from our city allows me to appreciate the great value I place on my history, because I find it utterly fascinating to delve into the life of each of them; Whenever I went to university, I used to take the Veritas buses, and as they always passed by the front, I would see this square; I thought the sculpture was beautiful.

Ahora bien, Dolores Vargas Paris de Urdaneta fue la esposa de Rafael Urdaneta, nuestro procer zuliano reconocido por sus grandes azañas historicas y el gran amigo que fue de Simón Bolivar, así como un hombre de gran historia para todos, ahora bien justamente al estar el museo de Rafael Urdaneta que este es el lugar en donde nació, detrás quisieron hacer esta plaza para rendir un tributo y homenaje especial a su esposa su compañera de vida con quién tuvo a sus hijos eran conocidos como un matrimonio ejemplar, es conocida como la heroina de nueva granada.

Now, Dolores Vargas Paris de Urdaneta was the wife of Rafael Urdaneta, our renowned hero from Zulia, celebrated for his great historical achievements and for being a close friend of Simón Bolívar, as well as a man of great significance to us all; Now, precisely because the Rafael Urdaneta Museum is located in the very place where he was born, they wanted to create this square behind it to pay tribute and pay special homage to his wife, his life partner with whom he had his children; they were known as an exemplary couple, and she is known as the heroine of Nueva Granada.

Podemos ver que el lugar posee diversas caminarias como a su vez distintas bancas donde puedes sentarte, cabe destacar que esta plaza se encuentra en bastante estado de abandono por lo que sería bueno que este lugar se le pudiera dar un mejor mantenimiento y embellecimiento a cada uno de sus espacios a pesar de que es un espacio con gran potencial, pero es otro espacio más que no es valorado por los lugareños del lugar, apesar de que el lugar no se encuentre enmontada por grama la misma se ve bastante seca como si necesitara más agua en cada uno de sus espacios.

We can see that the site has various walkways as well as a number of benches where you can sit. It is worth noting that this square is in a rather neglected state, so it would be good if better maintenance and improvements could be made to each of its areas, despite the fact that it is a space with great potential, However, it is yet another space that is not valued by the local residents. Although the area is not overgrown with grass, it looks quite dry, as if it needed more water in every part of it.

Podemos ver en el centro de la plaza un piso de concreto circular, la escultara de Dolores Vargas Paris de Urdaneta se encuentra en una base cuadrada de ladrillos rojos, podemos ver que se encuentra su escultura elaborada de concreto, en donde Dolores se encuentra con su rostro fino y serio, como también sus ondas de cabello corto con vestimenta netamente de la época con mangas y collares, Dolores una mujer que apesar que no fue Venezolana era de Colombia, pero tuvo un papel grande en la libertad de dicho país tuvo 11 hijos con su gran amor Urdaneta, entre lo más importante Amenodoro Urdaneta.

Dolores, a woman who, although not Venezuelan but from Colombia, yet she played a major role in that country’s liberation. She had 11 children with her great love, Urdaneta, the most notable of whom was Amenodoro Urdaneta.

Dolores de Urdaneta era una mujer muy distinguida justamente se entendió rápidamente con Rafael Urdaneta ya que también era un hombre con estas cualidades bastante buen mozo y hacían la pareja perfecta, ambos eran muy cultos de excelente familias, siempre viajaban juntos con su gran familia, Dolores murió en Caracas justamente después 30 años después de enviudar pudo sobrevivir a la muerte de su gran amor, ambos reposan en el panteón nacional.

Dolores de Urdaneta was a woman of great distinction; she hit it off immediately with Rafael Urdaneta, as he too was a man of such qualities and quite handsome, and they made the perfect couple. Both were highly educated and came from excellent families; they always travelled together with their large family. Dolores died in Caracas exactly 30 years after being widowed; she managed to survive the death of her great love, and both are laid to rest in the National Pantheon.
