Beginning Lent with Ash Wednesday, a special day. | Comienzo de la Cuaresma con el Miércoles de Ceniza, un día especial.

Gratos saludos tengan todos mis queridos amigos de esta comunidad hermosa de Lifestyle en este Miércoles mitad de semana, faltando poco para el fin de semana les mostraré el momento especial de este día después de carnaval.

Warm greetings to all my dear friends in this wonderful Lifestyle community on this midweek Wednesday. With the weekend just around the corner, I will show you the special moment of this day after Carnival.

Hoy Miércoles de Ceniza inició este largo camino de cuarentena en preparación a la Pascua de Jesucristo, estos 40 días nos recuerdan nuestro compromiso y deber cristiano sin duda alguna amo cuando es Miércoles de Ceniza y nos permiten experimentar de nuevo el camino hacia el desierto haciendo mucha oración sacrificios y ayunos, hoy fue un día bastante simbólico, puesto que también es cumpleaños de mi abuela me levanté bastante temprano, ya que pensaba que iba a tener un paciente, no pude ir a misa temprano y quedé con mi novio para ir en misa en la tarde, tenía la responsabilidad de leer en la santa eucaristía la primera lectura.

Today, Ash Wednesday, marked the beginning of this long period of quarantine in preparation for Easter. These 40 days remind us of our Christian commitment and duty. I definitely love Ash Wednesday, as it allows us to experience once again the journey into the desert through much prayer, sacrifice and fasting. Today was quite a symbolic day, as it is also my grandmother's birthday. I got up quite early, as I thought I was going to have a patient. I couldn't go to Mass early, so I arranged to go to Mass in the afternoon with my boyfriend. I had the responsibility of reading the first reading at Holy Communion.

Llegué a misa bastante temprano eran aproximadamente las 5:20 de la tarde como tenía responsabilidad de leer una lectura, llegue bastante temprano para poder agarrar un buen sitio para sentarme justamente en la puerta, me encontré a mis novio Jorge en la puerta, los 2 íbamos a escuchar la misa del Miércoles de Ceniza juntos, es una nueva experiencia que vamos a vivir por primera vez hicimos el Rosario, me senté un rato con mis compañeras con las que iba a llevar la lectura, para después volver más sentar en el puesto donde inicialmente me senté con mi novio, para que pudiéramos escuchar los 2 la santa misa al lado de cada uno.

I arrived at Mass quite early, at around 5:20 p.m. As I was responsible for reading a passage, I arrived early enough to get a good seat right by the door. I met my boyfriend Jorge at the door. We were both going to attend Ash Wednesday Mass together. It was a new experience for us. First, we prayed the Rosary. I sat for a while with my companions with whom I was going to do the reading, and then returned to sit in the place where I had initially sat with my boyfriend, so that we could both listen to Holy Mass side by side.

Luego de leer las sagradas lecturas me fui a sentar con mi novio Jorge la iglesia estaba complentamente repleta de muchas personas tanto así que habían personas de pie en la parte de atrás y sobresalían del hermoso templo, nuestra iglesia vive con mayor intensidad la cuaresma ya que durante los 40 días realizan diversas peregrinaciones de Jesús Nazareno ya que tiene este nombre, los devotos cargaron encima de sus hombros la imagen hermosa del Nazareno, esos hombres vestidos de morado estaban a un costado del altar en lado izquierdo.

After reading the sacred readings, I went to sit with my boyfriend Jorge. The church was completely packed with so many people that there were people standing at the back and spilling out of the beautiful temple. Our church experiences Lent with greater intensity because during the 40 days they make various pilgrimages of Jesus Nazareno, as he is called. The devotees carried the beautiful image of the Nazarene on their shoulders. Those men dressed in purple were on the left side of the altar.

Luego del padre compartir las reflexiones de este hermoso día acerca del ayuno, el padre procedio a poder bendecir e impones las cenizas para que fueran colocadas en nuestra frente cabe resaltar que las mismas son cremadas y preparadas con aceite producto del domingo de ramos de la anterior seman santa la cola para ir a colocarse las cenizas era realmente infinita no obstante Jorge y yo nos sentamos a esperar que todo estuviera más despejado para poder ir a que nos colocaran la ceniza en nuestra frente.

After the priest shared his reflections on this beautiful day about fasting, he proceeded to bless and impose the ashes to be placed on our foreheads. It should be noted that these ashes are cremated and prepared with oil from Palm Sunday of the previous Holy Week. The queue to have the ashes placed on our foreheads was truly endless, but Jorge and I sat down to wait until it was less crowded so that we could go and have the ashes placed on our foreheads.

Por último mi novio y yo quedamos bastante bendecidos de poder vivir esta Santa Eucaristía del Miércoles de Cenizas juntos en nombre de Dios recibiendo esas palabras del padre: "Conviertete y crée en evangelio", sin duda alguna esta cruz representa ese amor de Dios que estuvo dispuesto a sacrificar su vida por nosotros y nuestros pecados, espero les haya gustado esta publicación mis amigos nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad.

Finally, my boyfriend and I were very blessed to be able to experience this Holy Eucharist on Ash Wednesday together in the name of God, receiving these words from the priest: "Repent and believe in the Gospel."
