A visit to St Francis of Assisi Square. | Una visita a la plaza de San Francisco de Asís.

Warm greetings to all my dear fellow travellers from all over the world on this lovely Wednesday.

Justamente el la ciudad donde vivo en el municipio de San Francisco que se encuentra justamente al lado de Maracaibo se encuentran algunos lugares e interesantes y plazas a pesar de ser la ciudad más joven de Venezuela ya que justamente apenas tiene 29 años de fundada, anteriormente este municipio formaba parte de la ciudad de Maracaibo y justamente en este tiempo fue totalmente independizado hasta llegar a ser el municipio San Francisco justamente en la avenida 40 de las avenidas más famosas de este lugar y ¿quien no la conoce? Se encuentra la plaza de San Francisco de Asis.

In fact, the town where I live, in the municipality of San Francisco which is situated right next to Maracaibo is home to some interesting places and squares, despite being the youngest town in Venezuela, having been founded just 29 years ago. Previously, this municipality was part of the city of Maracaibo, and it was during this period that it became fully independent, eventually becoming the municipality of San Francisco. It is situated on Avenida 40 one of the most famous avenues in the area, and who hasn’t heard of it? where you’ll find the Plaza de San Francisco de Asís.

Justamente podemos encontrar un pequeño monumento que rinde un tributo especial a San Francisco y así él es nuestro santo por el cual nuestro municipio lleva su nombre, esta se encuentra totalmente en bronce y podemos ver qué sostiene una cruz una imagen bastante hermosa, justamente en una jardinera con flores silvestres de trinitarias totalmente fucsias el modelo de San Francisco de Asís que guía y conduce nuestros municipio, justamente se encuentra rodeado de todos los edificios de la urbanización.

There is, in fact, a small monument that pays special tribute to Saint Francis, who is the patron saint after whom our municipality is named. It is made entirely of bronze and depicts a rather beautiful figure holding a cross, set in a planter filled with wild fuchsia-coloured trinitaria flowers. This statue of Saint Francis of Assisi, who guides and leads our municipality, is situated right in the middle of the residential development, surrounded by all the buildings.

En la plaza hay un parque en donde los niños pueden distraerse y jugar lo podemos ver sus sube y baja, en columpios entre otros más así como también juego de pisé, en donde ellos pueden hacer actividades recreativas para jugar, distraerse en verdad el espacio se encuentra muy bien cuidado no está desperiorado por lo que considero que es un ambiente seguro donde pueden estar los niños para jugar y distraerse.

In the square there is a playground where children can have fun and play; we can see the seesaws, swings and other equipment, as well as a sandpit, where they can take part in recreational activities to play and have fun. The area is very well maintained and not run-down, so I consider it a safe environment where children can play and have fun.

Una de las cosas que me llama la atención de esta plaza es que posee distintas cúpulas de colores pintadas, en hierro son bastante interesantes puesto que no existe otra plaza en esta ciudad que las tenga no imagino que estas fueron pensadas para dar sombra en el lugar pero se encuentran totalmente expuestas al sol existen pocas bancas, en el lugar por lo que sería ideal que cada cúpula de esta tuviera banca en donde sentarse aproximadamente son 5 cúpulas coloridas estas se encuentran de diferentes tamaños y alturas desde el principio de la plaza hasta el final en verdad es un lugar recreativo, espiritual y bastante bonito.

One of the things that catches my eye about this square is that it has various colourful painted iron domes; they’re quite interesting as there’s no other square in this city that has them. I can’t imagine they were designed to provide shade, as they’re completely exposed to the sun. There are few benches, so it would be ideal if each dome had a bench to sit on. There are about five colourful domes, varying in size and height from one end of the square to the other. It really is a recreational, spiritual and rather lovely place.
