A stroll to the historic Reina Guillermina Square. | Un paseo por la histórica plaza Reina Guillermina.

Gratos saludos tengan hoy en este domingo mis queridos amigos viajeros de todas partes del mundo, quiero mostrarle en esta oportunidad mi visita a la plaza Reina Guillermina de la ciudad de Maracaibo.

Warm greetings today on this Sunday to my dear travelling friends from all over the world. I would like to take this opportunity to show you my visit to Reina Guillermina Square in the city of Maracaibo.

La plaza reina Guillermina fundada en 1953 justamente en la visita de la distinguida reina guillermina, ya que esta visito nuestra ciudad se deció realizar una plaza en su nombre, como una forma de rendir tributo y homenaje, justamente me encontraba caminando por toda la ciudad, siempre había observado esta plaza pero no había tenido la oportunidad de caminar en ella, hoy en día se encuentra totalmente restaurada y en perfecto estado ya que anteriormente estaba en estado de abandono.

Queen Guillermina Square was founded in 1953 during the visit of the distinguished Queen Guillermina. As she visited our city, it was decided to build a square in her name as a way of paying tribute and homage to her. I was walking around the city and had always noticed this square but had never had the opportunity to walk in it. Today, it has been completely restored and is in perfect condition, as it was previously in a state of neglect.

Esta plaza se encuentra justamente localizada en primero de Mayo con Cecilio Acosta, con calle 78 mejor conocido como sector el paraíso, ahora bien es una plaza bastante despejada que no posee muchos arbustos pero si arbustos silvestres, fue fundada el 31 de Agosto del ya mencionado año, siempre que me trasladaba a la facultad de Odontología y debía tomar mi carro de Veritas para traslafarme a la misma decía esta plaza no es fea, pero deberían brindarle mayor cuidado, siempre me llamaba mucho la atención presenta una firma totalmente rectangular, con diversos asientos de concretos investida también de jardineras y tramos de concretos para ofrecer ese aspecto engalanado.

This square is located at the intersection of Primero de Mayo and Cecilio Acosta, on Calle 78, better known as the El Paraíso neighbourhood. It is a fairly open square with few trees, but some wild shrubs. It was founded on 31 August of the aforementioned year. Whenever I went to the Faculty of Dentistry and had to take my Veritas car to get there, I would say that this square is not ugly, but it should be better cared for. It always caught my attention because it is completely rectangular, with various concrete seats, flower boxes, and concrete sections to give it a decorated look.

Ahora bien se preguntaran ¿Quien fue la reina Guillermina? Lo cierto que esta mujer de gran importancia fue una reina Holandesa con un papel protagónico ya que esta estuvo llevando su reinado justamente cuando se encontraba la segunda Guerra Mundial, al ser nuestra localidad un sitio bastante petrolero existían diveras compañías extranjeras en nuestra localidad y fue justamente, Rotary Clud Internacional, fue la compañía de llevar esta obra en compañía de Aruba y Curacao así como también los países bajos, cabe resaltar que el lugar donde se construye esta plaza pertenecia a la empresa holandesa Draillink Company.

Now you may ask yourselves, who was Queen Wilhelmina? The truth is that this woman of great importance was a Dutch queen who played a leading role, as she was reigning during the Second World War. As our town is quite rich in oil, there were several foreign companies in our town, and it was Rotary Club International that carried out this work in partnership with Aruba and Curacao, as well as the Netherlands. It should be noted that the site where this square is being built belonged to the Dutch company Draillink Company.

Justamente la plaza posee diversas caminerias favorecidas por la gran cantidad de trinitarias, que posee la plaza esta flor florece de manera fascinante ya que es una flor silvestre que se beneficia del sol vibrante de la ciudad, ahora bien hablemos del monumento que rinde homenaje esta plaza a diferencia de otras plazas de Maracaibo esta plaza posee una escultura bastante pequeña elaborada en concreto y pintada de blanco que sólo dice: "Reina Guillermina, países bajos", haciendo referencia a su localidad perteneciente, donde podemos ver la escultura de la reina Guillermina de rostro hasta el cuello con su corona, esta esta elevada en una vase larga aproximadamente de dos metros de altura un tamaño relativamente promedio.

The square has several paths lined with trinitarias, a wild flower that thrives in the city's vibrant sunshine. Unlike other squares in Maracaibo, this square has a small concrete sculpture painted white that simply reads: "Queen Wilhelmina, Netherlands," referring to her country of origin. We can see the sculpture of Queen Wilhelmina from her face to her neck with her crown. It is elevated on a long pedestal approximately two metres high, which is a relatively average size.

Por último posee detalles interesantes como una escultura de rocas, como también un gran árbol disecado que ha sido perpetuado para ser pintado de blando con formas de coronas negras rindiendo tributo a la reina guillermina, sin duda alguna fue un paseo interesante que bueno que las personas que viven a su alrededores pueden ir a sentarse, disfrutar de la plaza ya que tiene mucha iluminación así como también pueden hacer ejercicio, caminar o actividad física, como también pasar un rato diferente.

Finally, it has interesting details such as a rock sculpture and a large dried-up tree that has been preserved and painted white with black crowns, paying tribute to Queen Wilhelmina. Without a doubt, it was an interesting walk. It is good that the people who live in the surrounding area can go and sit, enjoy the square, as it is well lit, and they can also exercise, walk or do physical activity, as well as spend some time doing something different.
