A walk in Victoria Garden City

Hello, Hivers and Wednesday Walkers! I had the opportunity to take a walk, admiring the beautiful nature around me. It's been a pretty long time since I took a walk. I have been a busy bee both offline and online, forgetting the need to go out there once in awhile, exploring the environment, and keeping fit at the same time. This walk took place on the 1st of this month; it was a public holiday in my country, and the kids were at home all through. In the evening, after so much intense trouble from them, I decided to leave home for a walk in Victoria Garden City, a location not far from my home but blessed with nature unlike my estate. Today,I am glad to share my amazing walk with you, connecting with nature.

There is nothing as beautiful as losing yourself to nature's embrace, so it can relieve your stress and some emotions, giving you an unexplainable feeling in return. Many people experience the healing effects of nature just by spending quality time around them, admiring how beautiful the trees and flowers are. The calm or windy environment is always soothing, and if you happen to visit the beach, then you will enjoy the waves of water and the tranquility. All these have a way of naturally calming the body system, leaving us refreshing.

As I walked into the Garden City Estate, I could see some seats designed for people who wish to hang around with their friends, or perhaps anyone can just sit there to feel the natural breeze.

I walked further and noticed that the wooden seat-out chairs were mounted in strategic places just at each road in the estate. They have roads one to ten written boldly in a small sign post to assist in easy finding of the residents home address.

IMG_20230927_153840.jpg

One thing I noticed in the estate is that each building is well shielded with trees, and I guess the residents wouldn't encounter the intense hot weather we usually experience here in Lagos state Nigeria.

Each street is blessed with amazing nature, and at this point of my walk, I said, If wishes were horses,... hahaha, I should relocate to this garden city estate, but it costs pretty high.

At this point, the feeling of nature was giving me an unusual smile, and I kept waking. Then I came across this building with these trees to beautify the house; unfortunately,it looks bushy and unkept. I think the owner overlooked trimming the trees for better beautification.

It's not totally looking bad anyway. Going further along the main street, I could see different trees planted by the sides. I loved them and took a shot.

I could also see a place that looked like the residents usually have outdoor activities like basketball and football. If you zoom in on this shot, you will see tents over there with chairs inside, probably for the watchers. That's really nice to have a space for some activities within the garden city estate.

IMG_20230927_153857.jpg

I didn't want to end the tour, as I was enjoying the nature over there, but again, I needed to head back home.

IMG_20230927_153305.jpg

For sure, I burned some calories during the walk. It's really a nice way to keep fit. On my way home, I sighted Mr. Bigs restaurants, and I immediately started craving Nigerian jellof rice. I couldn't resist the urge, as I felt exhausted and hungry at that time. I thought of ending the evening walk with chilled bottled water and jellof rice.

Overall, it was a nice walk connecting with nature, and I hope to keep taking a walk more often.

When last did you take a walk?

It is a great idea that you have left home and enjoyed a beautiful natural environment. What a beautiful place you have chosen, dear friend @nkemakonam89, for a walk. I also really enjoy walks in open and natural places. Thank you very much for sharing this pleasant walk

Sometimes it's good to spend some time with nature and it's healthy. It seems we are getting detached from nature which is not good. I can understand how much you enjoyed the greeny nature.
jellof rice seems good in taste.

It looks so beautiful, it's like a nice place to have a picnic, ha.

I’m glad you took the walk, at least you enjoyed it and also burnt calories.

It is amazing, you deserve a jollof rice.

It looks good and very serene, it's been long I saw such radiant sunshine. It's mostly rain everyday. Nice drop to have some decent food.

This is a scene environment, I'm sure you felt that relief from taking a walk in such environment, and you would have added the calories you burned if not that Mr Biggs is stingy with their jollof rice🤣.

Looking beautiful mama, stay well.

Lovely walk - it is indeed nice to getaway sometimes and enjoy nature. Appreciating our natural surroundings sometimes helps us to put things into perspective.

The jollof rice looks tasty - you might have added back all the burnt calories. haha

Madam, which one is Jellof rice? 😃😃😃 It's Jollof joor 😆😆
I was just smiling pronouncing it the way you typed it out. Is that how you call it? Lol

You know it's unfair to go out and leave those kids at home instead of coming to enjoy your jellof jollof rice with you 😃

Those are amazing photos you took. Nature is indeed attractive and beautiful. One would wish to relocate to such an area because of the fresh air and environment which could bring more inspiration day by day.

I am surprised despite the park looking nice, it's quite empty.

It's an estate...not a park 🏞️. Although the name of the estate sounds like a park buts it's only residential
