"Ares the God of War on your Desktop" [ENG-ESP]

Welcome friends of Hive, in this post about the Greek sculptures that I print I bring Ares the God of War, a sculpture that gives me great joy to share because it has a certain level of complexity when it comes to have the final result that you see in the image, so without further detours I start to tell you.

Bienvenidos amigos de Hive, en es posteo sobre las esculturas griegas que imprimo traigo a Ares el Dios de la guerra una escultura que me da mucha alegría compartir debido a que tiene cierto nivel de complejidad a la hora de tener el resultado final que ven en la imagen, así que sin mas rodeos comienzo a contarles.

Ares is a God known by all of us, we have seen him in countless movies and video games, he is the very representation of brutality, violence and any horror that happens in battles and as a curiosity I discovered that in spite of representing the god of war he has not always been victorious in all the battles that he deserves. He is represented as a young man with anastole hair (a kind of hairstyle used by Hellenic warriors) and in other presentations he can be seen in a chariot with a burning torch.

Ares es un Dios conocido por todos nosotros, lo hemos visto en un sinfín de películas y video juegos, es la representación misma de la brutalidad, la violencia y cualquier horror que suceda en batallas y como curiosidad descubrí que a pesar de reasentar al dios de la guerra este no siempre ha salido victorioso en todas las batallas que se le ameritan. Se lo representa como un hombre joven con cabellera anástole (Una especie de peinado utilizado por los guerreros helenos) y en otras presentaciones se lo puede ver en un carruaje con una antorcha encendida.

Ares literally means BATTLES and is also known in Roman mythology as Mars. He is the son of Zeus and Hera and is part of the 12 Olympic gods. According to data I found it is said that by the facial structure and features represented in the sculpture this was a reworking of the Borghese Ares, another full body sculpture dating from 420 BC (I imagine that at that time no one would have even imagined a miniature replica of the sculpture). Nowadays the decorative helmet of the original is missing, but this bust is useful to know how the complete statue of the Ares Borghese would have looked like.

Ares significa literalmente BATALLAS también es conocido en la mitología romana como Marte. El es hijo de Zeus y Hera y forma parte de los 12 dioses Olímpicos. Según datos que encontré se dice que por la estructura facial y los rasgos representados en la escultura esta fue una reelaboración del Ares Borghese, otra escultura de cuerpo completo que data del 420 A.C (Me imagino que por aquella época nadie hubiera siquiera imaginado una réplica en miniatura de la escultura). Actualmente falta el casco decorativo del original, pero este busto sirve para saber cómo habría sido la estatua completa del Ares Borghese

The complexity when printing this piece was mainly due to two reasons, the small support area and the upper part of the battle helmet. Having a small support area could cause the piece to detach from the printing base and lose valuable material, at all times my priority was to take advantage of the material because as I mentioned it is extremely expensive; on the other hand, I had to use enough supports for the helmet to come out well and was moderately easy to remove once the printing was finished. But after taking the time to set up, I achieved a good result.

La complejidad a la hora de imprimir esta pieza estuvo dada principalmente por dos motivos, la escasa área de apoyo que tenia y la parte superior del casco de batalla. Al tener un área pequeña de apoyo esto podía provocar que la pieza se despegue de la base de impresión y perder valioso material, en todo momento mi prioridad era aprovechar el material ya que como mencione es extremadamente caro; por otro lado, debí utilizar la cantidad suficiente de soportes para que el casco saliera bien y fuera mediadamente fácil de retirar una vez finalizada la impresión. Pero tras tomarme el tiempo para configurar logre un buen resultado.

Like the previous pieces this one took about 4 hours to print and consumed about 42 grams of material, I'm trying to save a little by placing less padding as they are merely aesthetic pieces and do not need a great resistance, although this lack of padding could cause it to break in the case of falling to the ground. So I have to be careful.

Al igual que las anteriores piezas esta tardo aproximadamente 4 horas en imprimirse y consumió unos 42 gramos de material, estoy intentando ahorrar un poco al colocarle menos relleno ya que son piezas meramente estéticas y no necesitan una gran resistencia, aunque esta falta de relleno podría provocar que se rompa en el caso de caer al suelo. Así que toca ser cuidadoso.
