Hello, HIVE Friends!

Friday our Siberian husky, Nymeria, had an appointment with the veterinarian for her "ANNUAL ADULT WELLNESS VISIT."

It was originally scheduled for last Saturday but the veterinarian had an emergency and changed the date/time.

Come along and see the fun time we had!

McCauley Animal Clinic has two locations in St. Charles County. The one in the photo above is our regular vet clinic and where we visited today.

Here's a quick little back story about Nymeria and the impact of the pandemic on her womanhood...

We added Nymeria to our family at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. When she was a puppy and had regular veterinarian checkups and vaccines, we forgot to schedule out in advance for her to be spayed. Female Siberian huskies have their first heat cycle between 6 to12 months old. In October 2020, Nymeria was 7 months old and with Thanksgiving less than a month away. I called the local McCauley Animal Clinic and ask for an appointment thinking it would be in a week or two. Imagine my shock when they told me due to the pandemic and being shorthanded (staff and vets out with Covid) the first available opening was the last week of December! HECK NO! No way I was taking a chance playing Russian roulette and gambling the chance of our dog having her period for the holidays (heat cycles last 3-4 weeks). Nope. Not with my bad luck. Then I remembered the veterinarians had another clinic location in a small country town called New Melle, about 15 miles away on two-lane stretch of highway filled with twists and turns. I hastily called to see if they had any availability for her surgery and was fortunate there was an opening later that week. Ultimately, that was where Nymeria had surgery to be spayed during the COVID pandemic in 2020. More about that experience another time...

Moral of the story?
Plan your dog's surgeries well in advance!

Click to listen to the song I picked for my post

"Give a Little Bit" by Supertramp

Give a little bit
Oh, give a little bit of your love to me
I'll give a little bit
I'll give a little bit of my life for you
Now's the time that we need to share
So find yourself, we're on our way back home

Oh, going home
Don't you need, don't you need to feel at home?
Oh, yeah, we gotta sing
Ooh, yeah, gotta get a feeling
Ooh, yeah, come along too 🎶

Thank you for reading to the end and I hope you smiled a time or two! 🙂😀😂😉

Beautiful girl, totally agree in neutering pets, update all vaccinations keeping them away from any form of gremlin attacks, sadly many neglect this side of life with our fur family.

Have a lovely weekend!

Thankfully, you made it possible to do what you wanted for the dog to be done.

As I have never had a pet dog, I wanna know what is the significance to spray the dog? I mean if you couldn't make it done what would the consequence be?

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE AND A DOG

Nowadays I have love and a Harris's hawk. But of course I understand dog people too. We had dogs mostly in my childhood. They were very loyal and very loving animals. I understand every animal lover. Most animals are much better than many humans.

She's a beautiful dog. I think having a dog makes a home, they are always there to welcome you home. My dog is old, about 14 years old, and lumpy (fatty lumps) I doubt he will last another year. He has been a loyal friend. I've no doubt that although I may have a few months without a dog when he goes, I can't imagine not getting another one.

LOVE this post, @ninahaskin. I am laughing so hard right now! I love your sense of humor. What is up with that sign about dogs under a picture of a cat? So funny. I love Market Friday. It’s such a fun way to discover the world outside our own.

Thank you very much, Jayna!♥️

I needed a laugh and had all the images for my post put together in a draft. The photo with the wrong message, or the wrong photo with the message, is what inspired me to sprinkle some humor before publishing.

Right?! You never know what you will find on Market Fridays! @jayna

Nymeria is such a pretty girl, Nina! @ninahaskin She looks like such a sweet cuddle bug! ❤️ Haha! The adlibs are the best!

So glad you were able to get her to their alternate location. December? What? Are they crazy? Yikes! The seemed very nice there and you were able to get everything done. Kudos to you for being such a responsible mama and taking good care of her. Our furbabies are such a part of the family, they deserve to be looked after like this. I personally love Huskies (my uncle raised them) bor their ability to communicate with humans.

I am so glad everything went well! Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday!

MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

I wonder what's the back story on this one. That's funny though :D

What a beautiful Siberian. My local Animal clinic is suffering low staffing issues too, it is a good ideal to make a firm booking ahead of time and not to take it for granted. Our pets become much our children.
