The inhabitants of the Vyahiri forest have arrived.

With the onset of warming, birds that were not visible in winter began to appear. Yesterday, in good weather, I went to the forest by the river. Right at the edge of the forest, I met these two wood pigeons. They were calmly sitting on a branch and cleaning their feathers. They paid almost no attention to me.

I tried not to disturb them and approached them carefully and slowly, without making any sudden movements. Therefore, the wood pigeons were in no hurry to fly away.

It was a nice sunny day. They were obviously warming themselves in the sun and didn't want to leave this nice place.

I was also glad to see them. I had not seen wood pigeons in winter and only recently heard their hooting sounds in the forest and immediately realized that wood pigeons had flown into the forest.

They arrive every year when the weather gets warmer. They build nests and have offspring. They usually fly in pairs. Sometimes 2-3 pairs in one place, but this is not often.

They are very hardworking. I have seen many times how males drag branches to build nests, and the female carefully arranges these branches so that the nest turns out cozy.

👍 Отлично. У нас они тоже живут, но я ни разу еще не встречал. Зато встречал краснокнижных горлиц.
