Tokyo Summer Trip Part 2

My trip continues!

On my defense, I'll be staying in Tokyo for fourteen days, which is two weeks, and is basically half a month. Let's pray for my knees and back.

But technicalities. Still... my adventure continues!

Day 4 - Tokyo Disneyland Rocks!

IMG20230809085521.jpg
(It's just the entrance but it already got the amazing feeling to it!)

For my fourth day in Tokyo, my friend and her parents (I was a tag along, just so you know dear readers) we went to Tokyo Disneyland! And let me tell you, it's definitely a place where magic and imagination come to life.

We left Saitama at six and rode the express train all the way to Maihama. It was almost a two-hour ride so I did manage to catch up on my sleep on the way there. Upon arriving, my half-asleep self definitely fully woken up once I set my eyes on the majestic Tokyo Disneyland Resort Hotel.

IMG20230809085707.jpg

IMG20230809085844.jpg
(It's a palace I tell you.)

Oh my gods! The structure was so beautiful and amazing, and a night is probably so expensive too. Maybe next time, who knows.

Our first hurdle would be the long line of visitors that day. Whether you believe it or not, just on that day alone, the visitors probably numbered into tens of thousands. I was told some even visited Tokyo Disneyland more than once in a year.

After entering the gates, the first structure that would greet the visitors was the replica of the World Bazaar. There were many shops that sold different things there; from confectionaries, to souvenirs, and even regular food. Once we get past the World Bazaar, I was greeted by the Cinderella's Castle which is the iconic landmark of Disneyland and any subsidiaries under it.

IMG20230809091505.jpg

IMG20230809091355.jpg

Cinderella's Castle was gorgeous! A real-life castle where one could walk through the life of Cinderella. It also makes a good background photo. Err... we had this one last but might as well mention it first.

IMG20230809102307.jpg
(The scene reminds me of Pocahontas. As in Grandma Willow.)

IMG20230809102030.jpg

The first event I encountered there was the Cool Down Mission of Baymax (I forgot the exact name). The number of people wanting to watch it was astounding! Everyone took their places at the side of the road, waiting for Baymax's float to pass. The whole thing was exciting and fun, it was definitely a good start (Well, it rained while we were making our way towards the World Bazaar but I'd like to think it was a rain of blessing. That, and there was an incoming typhoon to Japan).

IMG20230809101232_03.jpg

IMG20230809100441.jpg
(Look at the people, and it hasn't even started yet!)

After Baymax's parade, my attention was caught by the attraction; 'Winnie the Pooh's Hunny Hunt'. There were already people lining up but we made our way there and joined. Unfortunately, photos were not allowed inside so I had no way to show I was there, but if I were to recommend an attraction, I'd choose this one.

IMG20230809103613.jpg
(We literally went inside a storybook. Wish that was the same in real life.)

It was simply amazing that you must not miss it if you ever visit Tokyo Disneyland!

The next attraction we entered was 'It's A Small World After All'. It was a boat ride that featured many of Disney's shows as well as amazing places/cities all over the world!

IMG20230809111117.jpg

IMG20230809112623.jpg

IMG20230809112936.jpg

I am not fond of dolls, but I definitely enjoyed it.

IMG20230809113628.jpg

In total, we went to about ten attractions which included Peter Pan's Flying Adventure, Snow White's Adventure, Haunted Mansion, Mickey's Philhar Magic, and many more! The day, and the pay was definitely worth it!

IMG20230809170508_01.jpg
(Five o'clock parade. There were many hands and heads on the pictures because yours truly is only five feet flat and the people in front of me were giants.)

IMG20230809184853.jpg

IMG20230809172240.jpg

My favorite, or rather favorites, were definitely The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, and Micky's Philhar Magic!

We were unable to enter the newest attraction, the castle of 'Beauty and the Beast', but maybe next time?

But of course, Tokyo Disneyland's Electrical Parade Dreamlights was also an entirely different and amazing experience!

IMG20230809200939_01.jpg

IMG20230809201104_01.jpg

We went home at around eight in the evening, but despite the exhaustion, it was definitely worth it!

IMG20230809201957.jpg
(Doesn't it look majestic?)

Day 5 - Pika-pika-pikachu!

IMG20230810134746.jpg

For our fifth day, my friend and I went and visited her brother-in-law and his family in Yokohama. The family of three offered to take us to Yokohama for a short tour that afternoon. Incidentally, the Pokemon World Championships was held in Japan! I saw many Pikachu's all over the city and I couldn't help but be a child again! I may not be a die-hard fan of Pokemon itself, but you have to admit, aren't they cute???

(I am in love!)

IMG20230810174835.jpg

IMG20230810202214.jpg

IMG20230810200634.jpg

Of course, since I found myself in Yokohama, let us not forget the iconic Cosmo Clock 21 of Cosmo World!

IMG20230810173957.jpg

IMG20230810201233.jpg

IMG20230810172704.jpg

Yokohama was the setting of one of my favorite anime; 'Bungou Stray Dogs'. I promised myself that whenever I find myself in Yokohama, I would ride the famous Ferris Wheel.

So I went solo since my companions could stand neither the long wait, nor the height.

Day 6 - IKEA

IMG20230811124416.jpg
(Outfit of the Day!)

On my sixth day, it was quite short. Our destination was IKEA Kohoku in Shin-Yokohama. I was not sure why we actually headed there, but I totally did not mind since I saw many amazing furniture and set ups! Perhaps in my future home, I will have one, or more. Ahahaha!

IMG20230811143900.jpg

IMG20230811144331.jpg

It was unfortunately only a short visit, but hey! It was nice to visit for the first time!

Other than IKEA, we also visited a few places shortly.

IMG20230811162027.jpg
(I've always been fond of flower photos.)

Six days have went by and more days to go! I am so excited where I will be going next!

Note: I got a feeling my article was a mess, I hope you enjoyed the photos though.

Hello as well. Thank you for your words. Japan really is a good country to visit with an interesting culture. Although I'm more of a folklore and legend type myself, it's still quite an experience.

This is a beautiful walk ❤️ There are no doubts Disney knows how to make it magical, it must be great to go around the park and find elements from the movies. Cinderella's castle also looks beautiful. And the pikachu competition made me laugh, it must be funny to see all those dolls running around.

Nice trip, very nice photos too. Greetings!
