My Tokyo Summer Trip - Final!

This is the final part of my Tokyo, Japan trip!

(Feel the moment. I was at Yamashita Park.)

As I've mentioned before, Japan is one of my top destinations when visiting foreign countries (I'll pray hard and save for Greece next time). I love its culture, its scenic views as well as its legends and folklore. Being able to visit Japan has been a dream come true!

One of the things I like about the country was that the train system is very organized, not to mention their buses were also comfortable. During my stay there, I did not notice any sort of heavy traffic, which was an eye opener for me. From my observations, Japanese citizens use the train and the bus as the primary modes of transportation, thus making few private cars to traverse their roads. This is actually quite efficient in my opinion, it makes things easier in the road. Although, if you do ever go to Japan, and you want to actually see, appreciate and enjoy your experience, walking is the way to go.

Any of you who want to visit Japan have to ready your legs (my knees and back ached a lot in particular during this trip) for the many walks that you would do. Some of the beautiful and interesting places to visit would actually only be reached by foot. Well you can have the tour packages with transportation and whatnot, but if you were like me who needed to have a tight budget during the trip, it would definitely be something to prepare for physically and mentally.

The sceneries were really awesome though so it offsets any complications that came with the walks, especially exhaustion! As I've mentioned before, pictures sometimes do not bring justice to the real thing, and that was what I've observed during my trip.

The Kamakura Daibutsu (The Great Buddha in Kamakura).

Now this one I've seen featured in many anime, but it was quite majestic up close. The Kamakura Daibutsu is a famous icon in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Upon laying my eyes upon the giant statue the only thing in my mind was; 'Whoa, it's the real thing!' and 'I should tell Ben about this.' (Ben, not his real name, is a cousin of mine who also wanted to visit Japan). The feeling was actually quite unexplainable, I was more in awe at the scenery than forming any creative thoughts about it.

Behind the statue was a small clearing(?), I guess, and a lone shrine for the temple.

Another place we visited during my remaining days in Japan was a small bamboo forest and park with a very long pathway for walks.

There was also this park I forgot the name of somewhere in Yokohama (Porthill, Yokohama something). The views were exquisite, not to mention the ambiance of the place was quite serene.

I witnessed large crows fly around, looking for food. Unfortunately I was unable to take a photo of a crow being offered food by one of the visitors. It was a really cute scene.

We also braved Chinatown;

The Yamashita Park;

(Ahahaha! This is what you call a stolen shot.)

And the Yokohama Garden Higa Park!

(The Yokohama Stadium was just right at the exit!)

I even found a small café next to a museum with a cute cat theme. I unfortunately forgot the name of the establishment.

(The cheesecake was exquisite! Plus I love coffee.)

The places I visited for my last day (before the flight) was Shibuya, the Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, the Zozoji Temple and the Sensoji Temple. To enjoy and get to this place when you're in a tight budget, and if you're staying for like 24 hours, I'd recommend getting a Tokyo Metro Rail Pass. It'll let you ride for free on selected train lines and enjoy your tour in Tokyo Metro!

(It's the famous Shibuya Crossing!)

All in all, my trip was very satisfying. And I hope, in my next one (cause I still want to visit the country), I'd be able to go to more places.
