Through Montenegro, trip to Zabljak mountain
Zabljak, a place located between high mountain peaks, glacial lakes in the untouched nature of the Durmitor region. Zabljak is the highest inhabited place in the Balkan, at an altitude of 1456 m. What makes it special is the pristine beauty of nature, diversity and picturesque landscapes.
The highest mountain that surrounds this place is Durmitor. Durmitor is a mountain with the highest peak of 2523 m, over 60 peaks of this mountain are above 2000 m above sea level. At the foot of this mountain hides the deepest canyon in Europe - the Tara river canyon, which is the second deepest in the world. Because of its blue-green crystal clear water, it is also called the "Tear of Europe". Precisely because of this specificity, this river received both international recognition and was registered in the ecological reserve of the biosphere of the world and Durmitor was declared a world natural asset as a cultural and natural heritage.
As far as the activities related to this place are concerned, in the summer period horse riding, hiking, rowing on the lake are most prominent, and in the winter the mountain provides conditions for skiing.
Based on the pictures below, you will see which was my favorite activity and who was my best friend on this trip. 😊
