Our Climb to Mount Panamao-A Featured Mountain in Biliran Island, Philippines

Hello everyone. Thanks for stopping by and taking a time to read my post. Let me share with you my unforgettable hike in one of the famous mountain in our province-Mt. Panamao

Mount Panamao is known as the third highest mountain in Biliran Island exactly located at the municipality of Almeria and is a famous spot for camping and hiking specially after being featured in many vlogs.

The mountain’s base location is just an hour away from my home. And honestly, many times that I have turned down my friends’ invitation to hike and experience camping in this famous mountain. Of course, I felt sad that due to some circumstances I wasn’t able to go. And I thought, I totally lost my chance.

Until the day came. I was free to go hiking and camping with my friends. They’ve gone there several times but it was the first for me. I was so excited.

How we got there?

From home, we rode a van going to the place where we’ll start our hike. It is actually accessible from Brgy. Tubig Ginoo in the municipality of Kawayan, Biliran.

Reaching the base, and before starting the hike, we all gathered together and prayed for a safe journey. It’s past 3 in the afternoon when we started and we aimed to reach the campsite before sunset.

We’re advised not to bring too much stuff and it’s a good thing that I listened. It was really a long, rough, breath-taking hike. I appreciate the resting signages that indicates where we could stop for a rest and they were posted on the trees as we go on our hike.

Well, I enjoyed the hike because there are many of us, I thought I would pass out from exhaustion rather I came second. After almost two hours of walk we finally reached the camp site. I felt proud of myself. It may had been a long journey but the result is all worth it. We witnessed the sunset from an amazing view. It’s almost getting dark and yet I wasn’t able to take pictures of all the scenic views so I continued taking pictures in the next morning.

And here came the next morning. Upon opening my tent, the fog has welcomed me. It felt like I was up above the clouds. The fog is so dense and I love the feeling. It’s an amazing thing to experience the fog in the mountain. As the sun slowly shines the fog also gradually disappears.

Then the picture taking continued until it’s time to take our breakfast. There’s a place where you can cook and an abundant source of water which you can also drink.

After taking breakfast, we took more pictures and videos. We left the site at 7 in the morning and we can’t stay longer because it’s getting hot all over.
I would like to end this blog with a thrilling happening during our trip. We got to encounter a big King Cobra, good thing it left on its own. You can’t imagine how terrified I was and I kept trembling as we continue to go down. Thankfully, I got home safely.
